S1 for sale .....gulp

Is this the same Cobalt Blue S1 that was for sale a year or two ago for just over half of the current asking price? I don’t blame owners of S1’s for trying to achieve these hyped up prices, but with the last known genuine UK sale at circa £32k I’d have to suffer another brain injury to to part with £47k (regardless of condition etc.). Looks like I’ll be parking my dream of owning an S1 and placing an order for a 390ish Cup, that’s if/when Lotus decide to make one! GLWTS

Don’t be talking S1 Exige values down on here :open_mouth: - that’s the raison d’etre of SELOC

Bit like house prices, when they go up makes little difference if you are not selling apart from making us feel good.

Mine has been stored in my garage for 5 yrs as the engine was removed when I bought it (I bought the car minus engine).

Question: when can we go historic racing in them…2025? The S1 Elise will be 2020.

I suppose it’s a bit like house prices, for example:

House A - sold for £320k

House B - owner thinks his is nicer looking than House A & tries to sell it for £400k

House C - owner thinks his is in a different league to the others & tries to sell it for £600k

House D - owner thinks he will make his look like a bargain compared to House C & tries to sell it for £470k

Although houses B, C & D haven’t sold, the deluded house owners on the street continue to tell their neighbours and potential buyers that their houses are worth upto £600k. However the fact remains that the highest achieved sale price on the street is and still remains at £320k

#Don’t Believe The Hype

Hype? never believe it

Have a genuine offer well north of £40k for my Exige from a car collector business friend - but it’s worth helluva lot more to me as it’s priceless- rather reassuring tho’

Take it and buy two with the money when the prices crash :sunglasses:

No price crash coming, I would say price correction, in Euroland been that for years.

I see the one at £47k is not forsale now or sold. Hmmm.

In 100 years we’ll all be dead.

…looks like the owner of House C happened to have an S1…went on PH for £55k :open_mouth: :open_mouth:

If the car has disappeared from PH you never know if it has truly been sold.

The silver one that was up for sale at Leboncoin in France for 40k € has been sold probably too.
But a new one is up for sale, silver again, restored and offered for 56k €:

Does anybody know who is the lucky member that grabbed the 35k bargain in laser blue offered recently on this site?

People are starting to ask for some serious dough now for our little cars…I appreciate it has been restored, but it’s not a particularly low mileage example either.

Like the S1 Elise there has to be a fair amount of judgment in mileage versus condition and maintenance. Low miles is relative. The unused ones will obviously always go for higher though.

Prices of a lot of cars have gone mental in the last 12 months. 2 years ago an R34 skyline was 25k…they were that for yeeears. Now 45-50!!

It makes me wish i had a VHPD sat in a box somewhere. I had a look actually but couldn’t find one for sale.

I wouldn’t put it in mind!

I have one sat in my garage. Looks brand new. Lol looks so nice in fact I don’t want to put it back in

Oh and welcome John

Many thanks!

And another S1 appeared on Pistonheads:

Lovely to see a Chrome Orange one for sale but at 60k certainly no bargain. As the car is located in Hongkong could it be the former MrBean car?

Sam lau’s car?

Trying to recoup the £10k+ HK Import Tax & Shipping fees apparently, not priced to be sold back to UK no doubt.

Looks good Sam, good luck
