S1 for sale .....gulp

Based on experience I think boost is better for a rover k series than massive revs, I also had a 1990 GTT running 30psi of boost(but with the correct fueling)

Here’s one for sale @ £59950 in the uk. Nice car…good luck to the guy  :

Can’t fault him, onwards and upwards

You can stick you’re 60k where the sun don’t shine. S1 Exiges are priceless. You can’t design and build cars like this anymore, those days are gone and I pity the kids of today with there servo’s, airbags and ABS.

I think he is dreaming if he will get £60k, at a push £40k

To be fair, it does look a very nice car but the words “investment grade” grate a bit . . .

Not even got those magic seats.

Mine is currently LHD, makes me think it could be worth changing back. Was done by a Lotus dealer before I bought it.

Bit high but maybe someone wants this rawness as we do on here.

As others have said, good luck to him! I mean that genuinely, if you’re not cheeky enough to put it out there and ask what you think its worth then you won’t get that for it, simple as.

I think there has been a shift in appreciation of raw old skool cars to the point now where modern cars are becoming more and more removed from that simplicity and pureness of design. The Exige is fairly unique in this regard - raw is the word! I wouldn’t be surprised if they keep climbing. When I bought mine the guys that inspected it reckoned 100K would be seen in the future for these little ballistic rockets at which point I told them to zip as the seller was standing there too

Totally agree, I know it is in most of our interests to talk these prices up, but i honestly believe there is not a more beautiful little sports car around. Coupled with limited numbers and the fantastic raw driving experience these cars are definitely for keeps.

Great to see these prices, I think this is were they are now. Really how many are left now. A few hundred at most.

Anyone see if the Green one at 55k euro sold?

There is only one problem though…none have actually sold, I bought the last one genuinely for sale at £32k only in January !!
18,000 mls, 2 owners and yes it has the nice seats

Are you seriously saying its nearly doubled in price in just over 2 months, lol

I heard that they’ve trebled!

I think the price will be at least north of £40k for a really nice one. The £32k was for a car that was a re-listed car and you were really quick by putting a deposit on it after when it re-appeared bearing the mid-2016 price tag.
And it’s a silver one which is the most common colour. I don’t think you are able to find another one for that price right now.

A good indicator of where the market is going is to look at what the professionals do offer.
How is the market response to your ‘Exige S1 Wanted at £40k’ ads over at Seloc, Evosal?

I think 32-35 for a good spec car with a good colour is what you will get at the moment. Based on nothing more than it feels about right. The S1 is very much a minority appeal car and you need a buyer at the right time.

If anyone wants to give me 55k for my yellow full spec car with 25k miles… it would be hard to resist.

Ill start the bidding at £37,500

Another one for sale now, spoilt for choice. What’s with the battery’s being so high, how are they secured? And the washer bottles not above the battery? Is this something on air con cars as both the cars for sale are the same and I’ve never noticed that before.

Yep, aircon cars have the high battery placement to allow for aircon gubbins and the washer bottle in the front wing.

…and the pipe falls off the washer bottle in the middle of the mot and it fails, as happened to me.

Looks nice, not keen on the grey alcantara but it has good seats. It has the must have changes of Nitrons to avoid that squeak. They need verniers, to make them run properly.

Got the Nitrons, missing the squeak
