Rear wing replacement.

any joy with the maddog diffuser that was on your shopping list back in '06?

I am still trying to source something similar, I might have found someone to make them, but need to gauge some interest?

I can make you something along these lines.Bigger,smaller.more vanes, etc no problem.

sounds interesting if they were along the lines of the original maddog i.e. same basic design as original but slightly longer with deeper squared off fins. Any idea on price and material?

They are going to be ally, I can get c/f ones but I want a silver one, also I still have my grills so the above pictures although nice aren’t suitable for me

I am not trying to be a forum troll or piss off those that have spent money on wings etc…

Bottom line if you are not going to address the aero of the Exige (almost none) as a whole buying something like this is a cosmetic exercise.

Unless that has been developed in a wind tunnel, and you have dynamic data to prove the effects, then it is a waste
of money. The Reverie guys have published some of this but…

To gain the most benefit from the aero on an S2 Exige you have to do the following:

Cut the rear clam to mount a chassis-based rear wing.

Lower the car to a level to make a front splitter and duffuser interact with the wing. This will require expensive suspension and modifications like moving of wiring looms and oil lines. All expensive.

So on top of a 2.5k bill for aero parts you are looking at 2.5k of modifications.

Then the labour to do it all.

And unless you are competing in a non-ET series you can’t lower the car low enough to get the gains.

So why do it other than indulging oneself? Which is cool if thats your gig.

For 6k you could get some serious tuition and track time and be as quick as any aero gain on the Lotus platform.

So book some lessons Moneybags

or you could ask me what results we found on my car.

Jas …
that diffuser looks real fine…

What about price ?

Is it as durable as the original … ie fixing holes and repeated removal/fitting ?

Please do share, I am very interested as its a subject I’ve spent a lot of time researching.

All the way from Japan and excellent quality I put it together last night, just need to fit it to the car…

I can feel a “Dremmel Moment” is about to happen

That’s big enough to mount a TV screen on!

In this instance just a drill…phew !

Are there backing plates for inside the clam? Just a bit worried that, if not, there is a possibly of cracking the paint/plastic due to flexing when driving at speed.

PS You can still make a mess with a drill!

The single mounting point looks much neater than the double featured in their online ad. Does look good. Top marks.
