Rear wing replacement.

I know size isn’t every thing (now, now, pesky), but the rear wing on the S2 sucks somewhat. I’ve decided to go with a direct replacement using the original pickup points rather than cut holes in the clam (for now anyway). and what with me running in the production class for the mesc, I will need to revert back to the standard wing for my races. (it will be elidgable for the endurance mind )

It is the exact same design as the autobytel wing albeit has different mounting positions (obviously) and has 5 points for varying adjustment on the angle it attacks. It is also mounted much more securely than the original was.

not everyones cup of tea but I like it!! just need a front splitter and diff (maddog ).

I think it looks stupid, & you’ve ruined your car by leaving the roof on.

Yeah, right

cheers Rob, knew you would like it…

How did the trip go btw?

I’m assuming this is the same wing as i had an email about from graham at plans today?I love it but 1100 odd is a bit steep for me!!(plus the missus will go you spent how much? on what!!!??)

marc.

I must say, when I saw the car at Silverstone it was impressive, but now… now it looks bloody awesome !

Lovely photos too, God it must look so menacing looming in someones rear view mirror .

Looks Great Gav!
Diffusers should be here soon! the anodisers are closed next week

Wow, I thought I didn’t like S2s…but your car is changing that…i think the wing looks like it should have been there in the first place…but was it really 1,100!

What are the 5 points of adjustment?

Nice things never come cheap unfortunately, unless of course you have either won the lottery or you have stolen it from someone…

Thanks for the comments guys

p.s I would have thought that i would get a good chunk of my money back if I ever wanted to sell it, else they can lay my body out on it when I die…

steve, there are 5 points of adjustment on the rear uprights to alter the angle at which the wing hits the air. steeper the angle the more down force it will generate (within a limit of course). I will undoubatbly need to sort out a better front splitter to balance it up.

Gav,

there are a few people wanting a front splitter but I can’t get hold of one to modify, so as soon as lotus have them in stock I’ll sort one out

Looking good!

Very nice. I’d be really jealous if I hadn’t already got a decent wing on mine.

Looks awesome mate!!!

I couldn’t believe the differance adjusting it makes either. At Snetterton I gained about 5mph at the end of the straight by lowering it. Mind you it also made the long right hander a bit scarey. lol

Looks very nice you just need a mean front splitter to balance it out

Sorry, should have made myself clearer - do you mean that there are 5 places the wing is attached that have to be unbolted to adjust it?

Check this out for a front splitter and rear wing

i like the rear light section done in c/fibre,how’s that done?C/fibre clam with that bit left unpainted or a simple sticker!?

marc.

The whole body of that car is carbon. I guess they just left that bit unpainted. Here’s the car before it was painted [image]http://www.dieselstation.com/wallpapers/Lotus-Sport-Exige/Lotus-Sport-Exige-002.jpg[/image]

That’s what i figured.
