New power upgrade for the exige S

Just a recap for me…"

The dash cluster is determining if you get 255 or 260.

So old 220 —> 255
New 240 —> 260

Q1: Old 240 (In a 240 CUP) will only give 255. Is this correct?

Q2: Can I change the dash  (are all fittings the same?) If so I could upgrade to 260. Am I correct?

Regards

Q.

What has the dash got to do with the power you end up with?

Well with the 260 Dash the final MPH number is obviously higher …

Later dash is different canubus so only map available is 260, 255 is earlier canbus.

Mine was done at the factory. It was a re-flash, not a replacement ECU.

This sounds like a pretty good deal compared to what’s out there at the moment.Looking forward to hearing a review on it!

240 CUP is predesessor of 255 CUP so I guess it has the same (old) dash.

What is the difference in the dashes from the outside (front)?
So I can say which one I have.

So is it 620+vat if you dont need the 495 260 ECU on the list?

495 is for the re-flash + ‘fitting’

you then need to add the fuel pump, cap, and fitting.

I wish i could post my views on the upgrade, but I’ve not been able to try it since early Dec…effing snow!

New dash is black with white numbers, old is white with black numbers.

new dash:

I would think the cost to convert to this one would be rather prohibitive for 5bhp.

Sounds interesting.

I had the Gotham ECU and injectors (no pump needed) and the car really did fly afterwards. I think it was 250bhp from memory (Dyno Dynamics RR test)

??? you dont need to change dash? I am not sure where all this chat is coming from…

The best thing to do if you are really interested is speak to Paul.
What we have worked out so far is that for the early cars with the white dash the 255 ecu works due to the canbus being different, these cars could then be flashed to 260 by Lotus but that would currently be 500 extra.
The later cars use the 260 ecu, Paul has been working on this but do not know the out come yet, they will either be a complete 260 ecu or possibly a flash to 255 or 260…
As I said, Paul will have the answers as its him who has constructed and worked out the kit after the work was done on my car.

No I understand…

But if you already have 243 BHP the “investment” to 255 BHP is for only 12 pony’s. If it is easy to change the dash you get an extra 5. Now I understand it maybe possibe to flash the 255 to 260 so you don’t need the dash.
I will contact supplier direct. Thank you for pointing us to that direction.

Q.

hi q, no problem. I think Paul has something planned for the 240’s.

i,m wondering what size the replacement injectors are…
and…
if in future if you wanted to up the power some more,to say 280/300 ish (like Ade’s) would the new injectors flow enough fuel?
Or would you end up buying yet another set?

Ade what injector size are yours?

Just read another topic Ade … 430 cc
And standard UK “s” are …330 cc

Still don’t know what size the replacements are …

The 220 injectors are not the same as the 240. The 240 injectors are retained for the 260 upgrade

The 240+ injectors are 440 or 430cc so they will be good for 300hp (I’m still not near duty cycle yet), only in the USA you seem to need 550cc injectors to make over 280hp, never sure why they just like to be bigger than everyone else I presume!

It’s because we use rwhp not bhp…and yes we are…

Anyone who’s had this on a S220 care to do a write up?
