NA Build....

So far so good.

That reflector must weigh a bit?!

And sooooo unfair to deprive everybody else of the lovely carbon weave from outside the car. (Being less playful) I assume that’s for UV protection?

Ian

Yes I wrapped it prior to change over to protect it until I know what colour to repaint the car once the new clams are on. Tbh I’m not sure if I’ll keep the doors unpainted Ian, depends on the colour I guess…

As long as you can see it inside, that’s what counts.

I love carbon fibre!

could mask off an area in the door, then remove mask just before lacquer

Yea I think I will do Tim actually in the end, it’s what most appealing to me right now.

looking good

Very impressive - was it difficult to get the shut lines right?

Zoom in, top left above the handle is slightly out couple of mm, made worse being two different colours. Front is fine. Leaving it as is tho as a new rear clam will be going on.

Looking absolutely brilliant. I love those doors.

Now I’ve got the cage with door bars I better get the hacksaw out and trim those door beams. At this rate you’ll be beating me to the sub 800kg trophy

Actually I think your well ahead now as all I keep doing is adding bits  extinguishers, auxiliary looms, cage, harnesses, bigger brakes…

Wes surely you’ve got a jump start being based on a rover tub?

Mine’s 815KG before I’ve started removing weight.

T

Don’t you pair start rubbing it in lol

Is that cos the rover tubs are made from the same porous alloy as their engines ??
Meoww

nah it’s just that the exige aero is SO good it produces downforce at standstill

Starting weight was 829kg. I’ve added a bit since then.

I’ve got some plans to take a bit off as well, but I’ll have to save some pennies before I can buy those doors.

Passenger side was a fecker, started off a proper sh1t fit but now it’s progressed to not quite perfect like the drivers side. I’m sure there’s milage in adjusting the hinge but it’s not that bad to bother with until the rear clams on.

I would def colour the outside and just lacquer the inside, add the carbon trims from either LM coarse or Reverie and the door would look awesome

Looking nice Jonny… what you hoping she’ll weigh ?

Sub 820kg’s no more I would have thought as I’m trying to use quality parts rather than race orientated if you know what I mean. Im not even going to ask you that question lol

Mine might not be far off… Angels voices weigh a lot !
