NA Build....

So sat twiddling my thumbs a little depressed missing almost all of a Donny TD, full Evening, Spa and Chatsworth. I could have come in my own car but it wouldn’t have felt the same, sorry Dean and fellow minions  Anyway oil leak was only a sump issue, and within 6 days of seeing the car off it was back again, a big thx to Track-Group excellent service once again, I think the quote was " what do you expect, it to sit around in a workshop for a few weeks, I don’t think so". All a learning curve, figured it may be that but the residual oil despite two or three good clean ups with break cleaner muddied the waters my end.

Anyway while it was there, more mapping was done and now it runs better then ever. That Moosive throttle body and those cams make for a little fecker to perfect, bar a very cold start all is well. It’s a little richer, pops and bangs a bit pottering around but it feels good.

I have a list of stuff to do this winter but nothing major (hopefully), just tidying up various bits and a proper paint job. For now I’ve learned how best to handle a Satin Black finish and that you should NEVER wash in direct sunlight and use Autoglym Vynl/rubber cleaner as a kind of wax. As much as every person who see’s it says COOL and LOVE THE COLUR, I can’t get my head around it and it’ll be white in no time with so many stone chips and thats after just a half day TD session. Well it was only a temp job, the rear clam certainly looks it but I thought I’d be on track sooner. Oulton, Silverstone, Hethel and Donny are booked up September and October.

I had to remove the rear Clam before the car went away and it is a 20min job, back on again I took my time but I reckon 1/2 hour if I pushed it but tbh that’s just about being careful and looking after the paint job. I scratched one of the pylons, but I’ll be redoing those too as they sit too in board and the tilt is off. They also need further bracing as they ever so slightly wobble, advice from Track-Club having had similar issues. Washer bottle mount is shit also but again done in a rush.

So it’s proper clean now and sat in the garage awaiting a DIY photoshoot but in the meantime here are some BaT images…

It’s a screamer…feel free to guess the weight, I have no idea lol may be 810kg with half tank??? Hoping less…

So a big thanks to…Gav (and Zant) for so much advice it’s untrue, John Shorrocks very much the same and being on hand in a heart beat, Jim at 2bular (takes every call from me  and Stephen/Track-Club who has been super mega fucking dooper efficient. I do these guys an injustice tbh, it’s all overwhelmingly good. You too Dave, you really are seriously Lotus. Lastly MLOC, Exiges.com and Lotussport.org. Will keep you updated with any changes

Well done JF. Shame the pics don’t show your smile.
Looks quite high at the front, that might just be the thin splitter

Yea I know it does look high and as much as I want it to look lower it drives perfectly well.

What ride heights John?

Oh… I forgot you have Ohlins so they are probably as low as you can get them?

Opps I forgot to post this up on my own thread…

very nice J/F … :sunglasses:

Fook me that NA sounds awesome.

Must admit find the SC ‘false’ and laggy/cheating. This reminds me of my M3 CSL and the raw feel of an NA engine ‘knarling/shouting’

Sounds awesome in the cab mate!
