… This is the one area I just do not know what to do mate.

No pics but bodywork is off and ready for primer. Will be collecting the CF rear clam off Gav in a couple of weeks. Tar Gav.

So yep as JFK said the clams are off. Service manual was clear enough although I did find a good page from Lotus Talk which was very informative with regards removing the rear clam Rear Clam Removal (Exige) | The Lotus Cars Community Every part removed Ive listed in order so I can work backwards when refitting as well as noting and bagging every screw/nut/bolt for each individual part.

prior to me having a little clean and removing the fog light.

This fellas off to Chriss to get the oil cooler vents and the bottom recess filled as well as being made flat across the bottom. Johns popping round, so Ill be helping fit a Laminova oil cooler after weve removed the engine. The Reverie splitters going, Im about to CNC a ply splitter in 9mm shortly. Itll look like Gavs front end without the aero catches retaining the indicators. I may include some holes to cool the brakes (I havent found this to be a problem with my brake setup tbh) in the centre intake if I can work out a route around crash structure.

Everything else is prepped more or less. The vinyl was a PITA to remove from my roof, it left the adhesive on which took hours to remove then required sanding way back to a smooth finish. The hinge covers are done also as is the engine lid but thatll be off once the front is finished along with the new rear clam to have some work done also.

Brave man, engine block on the hall carpet!!!

That’s work, Fee’s limit is my wing on the dining room table

Never mind the engine block on the carpet in the hall! What about the hot paint shavings from the roof lying on the carpet?
Bloody hell, I’d be hanging from the banisters with balls detached if I did that!
Might use you as an example of domestic tolerance, though.

How cute is little Henry in pic 4 ??
Awww…

He keeps looking at me…

So got a few things done over the weekend. Friday, polished the air and exhaust intakes some more and worked on the splitter, Ill post the splitter images when its ready to mock up with the front clam. Removed the manifold and induction and found this potential problem…

Drained the oil and removed the twin oil coolers. Slashed the pipes but drained the remainder first from the adjoining pipe under the crash structure. Passenger side pulled (with effort) out easy enough but no such luck drivers side so a quick call to John Shorrocks revealed possible cable ties behind the front drivers side speaker. Two to cut and bobs your uncle. Got a little side tracked and removed the boot release handle from inside and the remaining wire assembly left over after detaching the mechanism from the clam.

Lastly the messy job of draining the coolant by releasing the pipe to the radiator… very Messy lol!

not sure why but I can’t see the images, if I go direct to photobucket they come up fine.
why have you removed the coolers? going laminova?

yes mate I am. Just checked both browsers, you should see them.

seems to be another IE thing Chrome is fine

Good work,Mr Fox…
Keep posting.

I have no need to touch the brakes, I’m more than happy with the set up but the rust on the master cylinder bothers me. I was going to pop to Halfords and get some rust treatment, any ideas what to buy and how to use for that matter…(the bracket to the right I’m just making a new one).

POR15 start kit works well

Thank you Tim
