Again as im replacing them it does not matter if the threads get damaged so shock with a plastic hammer on the threads does the trick and tends not to do any harm if you want to re use them.
Right just read through that and it has shamed me into doing the same to the Elise suspension!
Bit of a epic road trip to Guildford and back in a day 690 miles but it was worth it.
On the way back dropped the door cards in at the trimmer, they will be made to match seats. Allon White are supplying the Alcantara and leather to match.
So that was Saturday taken care of, but on Sunday the rack got checked, thrust pad checked and new gators. Pretty easy to reinstall too with a fresh coat of paint.
All front end brackets, and fixings back from the shotblasters and galv sprayed.
Awaiting parts now so i can progress to getting the heater and radiator back in.
We’re those the seat on eBay last week?
I was watching those and then the advert disappeared.
Yes i got them off Ebay, made a offer the seller could not refuse.
Bugger, I hate you

its ok i dont mind if you hate me , cause i love the seats
The new seats look great Lee, worth the epic trip! (does this mean I get to keep mine now? ). I’ll be round for a look when we are allowed.
I reached another goal this weekend by getting the front heater and radiator area finished off.
This is before
All new bolts for the front compartment and suspension.
Restored radiator mount
No chances taken so new heater hoses.
Although the new condenser came painted i gave the black brackets a few coats of Rustoleum for added protection
New receiver dryer installed for the air con
All mounted into the radiator housing
I used a friends air con gas machine to vacum the system, and refil with oil and gas. Once the cooling system had been filled and bleed i ran the aircon and it was lovelly and cold.
All the oil cooler brackets and oil coolers re installed with new bolts.
Finished results but happy with how it has come out now to focus on the front suspension.
Looks smashing that mister! Some time , effort and brass gone into this!
Something I am particularly happy with from a cost perspective are my home made discs.
My rear discs had seen better days, and they also did not match the front 308mm J hooks.
Some basic plain discs got the middles machined out as per the originals. These got perfectly balanced with the alloy bells.
The J hooks got machined into the faces to match the fronts.
The alloy bells got re anodised from black to silver.
Nice coating of VHT paint to the parts that dont touch the pad and can rust.
Just awaiting the calipers but thats another thread.
Love the LeeConversion discs!
