I see the first 100 cars are sold already so maybe a bright future. Hopefully.
He… He… I’ve got an email confirming a place in a pre-series production, and got an invitation letter and a ticket for the Geneva show(only 20 rhd for UK), I’ll be there on the 16th.
Disagree with some of the comments re: Ariel Atom, recent EVO test CSR260 and Atom posted the same lap time, need I say more?
Regarding the owners whose had two new engines, I wondered whether he ever changes gear, did he just left it in first gear , it’s a Honda engine(probably the most reliable engine in the world).
Ariel, do you mind if i ask when you placed your order? Its just a friend put his name down at the very early stages as was unsuccessful. cheers ed

When did your your friend put his name down?
Ah, i see! I believe it was November time.
cheers for that! Yes, its a small world indeed. Gutted for Andy as his old car has now gone and it’ll be a long wait. Hope to own one myself one day! cheers Ed
I want one aswell, but as my exige is not even a year old i will wait for the production version…hopeefully in FIA race spec and 300 hp DSG

Does sound good but three things
1 The body work behind the front wheel is going to get trashed vary quickly by flying stones etc.
2 Is it left hand drive only?
3 The DSG box would be very cool if mated to paddle shift but it might take some of the challenge out of driving it?
I think it would be slightly nuts to be one of the first 100 as things like my 1st point will become apparent.
My names down but will quit happily wait a year to 18 months see what comes from the pre production run

I tends to agree with jamie, my main concern is the running cost, potential cf repair cost and insurance. It all depends on how much they want to charge for X Bow
More information about the first prototype series for the KTM X-Bow (100 cars):
Quote from: KTM
Due to the special status of this pilot series, KTM has decided to equip all the vehicles of this initial production with a number of first-rate accoutrements, which will later be offered as extras. Included in the standard equipment for the first series are the limited-slip differential, lightweight metal rims with a central nut mounting, and a Formula One racing steering wheel that can be removed via a quick-release mechanism to simplify getting in and out of the car. The four body panels lacquered orange on the prototypes are made of carbon fibre in the pilot series (later theyll be made of synthetic material), and the chassiss damping elements are adjustable. And of course other individual equipment requests can also be fulfilled.
Because of the greater extent of the equipment range, the projected basic price of 40,000 Euros (incl. VAT) is naturally higher for an exemplar of this pilot series. A definitive price will be announced after the Geneva Motor Show. After the publication of the first drawings, the interest in the pilot series prototypes was overwhelming. Every spot on the list of prospective buyers was already filled in January, while the waiting list has got considerably longer.
Now the synthetic material planned for the final series production series (decision whether to go ahead is to be expected in April) should release a few of the guys who have feared immense repair bills in case of a crash.
When the MV Agusta F4 was first announced it too had many special features in order to get people to step up to the plate. Carbon bodywork and magnesium bits. But the first bikes had many teething problems including overheating, throttle response, torque etc etc. I got mine 2 years later, the evo 02 model, after all the problems were solved. its been trouble free and all other variants since have just been with added fluff.
I plan to wait a bit and let them get the hang of building them and see how they are to live with, having said that i deffo want one so can you post a link to were i can get more info, and were to put my name down!..on the waiting list.
I bought one of the first generation MV Agusta F4, can’t say I have any reliability issues with it.
Heres agood video footage of a test drive in Italy

We have very similar taste then…
I did not mean to diss anyone with an original oro, i just wanted to make the point that the first in a new series are usually less sorted than after they have built a few. Whether thats a few fit and finish issues or something else depends on the product and who is builing it.
I do envy you having your name down for one though. And thanks for the link.
I must say, I quite like the look of the X-Bow. Had a close look at it on Tuesday while attending the Geneva Motor Show… very nice!

Thats the f*cking tits and i don’t mind saying so.
Deffo on my dream list. Just need to find the cash as the other toys have to stay.
Having a look from those angles would need to armafend the back, orange bit due to what will be kicked up by hot sticky tyres!

…don’t care, i want one
Dont get me wrong I want! Just know there will be bitching when they come out!
Very good observation Jamie… Surely (hopefully) they’ll extend the front tire area so that most stones don’t go flying. If they don’t, I wouldn’t only be worried about the car - what about the driver in corners? Outch!

I do not think i would drive one witout a helmet anyway. When i imagine some of the strikes my visor saves me from on my bike…the thought of those without a lid really scares me.
I don’t see what’s stopping stones flicking up off the front wheels and going through the side-mounted radiators

Come on Dave…what’s wrong with you getting the butler out of bed early in the morning to sweep the roads on your favourite route before returing, drawing your bath, making b’fast and having the car brought round ready for you to go
