Nice!!!
Any idea of a price yet?
They are claiming 40,000 euro…but i am struggling to believe that with a Dallara carbon chassis. They are however claiming to have a revolutionary construction technique which makes carbon chassis affordable.
Looks mega, very tuneable engine and already quite light at 700 kg
Some people have mentioned they don’t like the looks, but even Ferrari are going for function over form these days and I admire it’s apparent single-mindedness.
I think it looks fab, in fact, in this shot, I think it kinda has an air of Mac F1 about it…

Only thing is though, to me it just seems like yet another kitcar type thing thats trying to jump on the Ariel Atoms lightweight bandwagon, that said I rather like it .
David
Not my cup of tea at all. Mind you, I’ve no desire to own any of a 340R, a Circuit Car or an Atom, so no surprise there then! But it is great that these specialist manufacturers do something different, & also seeing their products out on track.
Good article, best line is:
“To meet European rules requiring wipers and defog functionality for any fixed windscreen, KTM opted out of fitting a windscreen altogether”
Audi clearly missed the point insisting on airbags
Blimey looks like an extra from a Mad Max film
From an aesthetic point of view i would say its the dogs danglers… i must admit i also find the front view a bit Mac F1.
I am deffo off to Geneva next month to see it in the flesh…
That thing is bloody ugly…in a good way I like it
Excellent!
At least somebody is willing to fill the niche market of simple sports car, now that Lotus keeps getting fatter and more and more electronics.
We already have central locking, electric windows, ABS, power assisted brakes, Throttle control.
How long till the Elise/Exige has power asisted steering?
KTM… the new 340R
I agree…the new 340r …but infinitely better looking than the 340r.
I hope it turns out a bit heavy and it handles poorly…otherwise i would find it hard not to buy one!
when are they going to finish it?
How can a man with your artistic talent not appreciate a piece of stunning design like that?
Imagine all the great pics you could take in the back streets of manchester…

Fair comment. It would get used as often as my Bike…which is not that often.
I still want one though…
I think it is stunning, and i think you could get some relly moody shots of this car in manchester - especially in the rain; it would be like a scene out of Bladerunner. (it’s just a pity the inside would get wet !!)
It’s great cutting edge design, i just hope it’s as good close up in the flesh…
