Jonny's S1 Exige Thread. Again!

Not sure how I got my wife to agree but it makes for a right little den Willy.

Check this lot outā€¦

r

Lol and thatā€™s not all of it Iā€™ve kept all the original parts Iā€™d need to put the car back to completely stock, which itā€™s not far off to be honest. Well all but the AC, that was beyond saving.

Aircon does not work when it works. Mine pumps cold fluid into the heater box but no cold comes out in the car.

Good saving.

Looks impressive, Jonny. I like the black headlamp bowls.
Are you sure you canā€™t build another Exige just by using the parts you have taken off

I reckon so

Sell that lot to Junks mateā€¦ or open up in ā€˜competitionā€™!!

Has the exhaust been treated to Zircotec.

Manifold, flexi and decat. The exhaust was only painted to match.

How we doing Jonny?
Ready for Wales?

No afraid not Graeme, not this year. Just waiting on some electrical stuff but once the ball starts rolling it wonā€™t take long.

As it stands I need to find an electrical gremlin but Iā€™ve got a few little (some really quite tiny) things doneā€¦

Not shiny :astonished:

Shiny

These had escaped my attention. No longer!

Previous images shows the horn push as an outty, as it should be now an inny! Newly Allon White trimmed wheel is beautiful :sunglasses: btw

Main beam flash required a big old tug so that got replaced for a new one.

Radio blank in (Thank you Keith  ) so dash finished.

Brand new oil cooler with XRP hose and fittings replacing the second hand cooler with the blue hoses Iā€™d previously fitted.

Very handy cut away I had done prior to paint with a neatly cut piece of plastic velcroā€™d over it. I even kept the off cut in case someone, not me wants it back in

All done and both wheel arch liners now fitted.

Lovely.

That is stunning. Nobody will ever do a better job. I canā€™t imagine it ever going around the muddy lanes of Staffordshire.

I have carefully replaced all those 5mm hex bolts with proper bolts (stainless where appropriate). The hex bolts round off very easily compared with normal bolts and are then a pain to extract. Has the engine been run yet?

Not yet.

Shouldnā€™t be an issue, wonā€™t be accumulating too many miles here on in.

Wow - just wow Jonny, surely best condition S1 there is now?!

Extraordinary. Well done.

You have made that awesome.

That is worth the top of some of the nutty advertised prices. Can I hand you my Evora in ~5 years to do the same?

Orgasmic :open_mouth: makes us mortals look kinda amatureā€¦hides face in shame.
Well at least I drive mine down the farm lane once in a whileā€¦wont be ages yet until the mud clears. In about july!

Cheers guys, thank you.

Hey Pierre, long time buddy, I hope youā€™re well

Little up date, had a dead short which played havoc with the immobiliser wiring. My bag :unamused: John (JSR) massive thanks for finding the fault and working to fix it. Needless to say I have fitted a like for like replacement and alarm.

John, when you fit the alarm do not copy Lotus and dispose of the ā€œsyncā€ pen and socket to go in the car. If the alarm ever gets out of sync you are messed up. I installed the socket with the red led on the rear panel. It flashes away when the alarm is set. Keep one pen with each key, just like an S1 Elise.

With luck, sync can be restored if ever there is a fault and you will not need a new alarm. Thatā€™s all that was wrong with mine and I had to buy a complete new system.
