Jonny's S1 Exige Thread. Again!

i concur!

loveleh simply loveleh

Very jelous!

Lol cheers fellaā€™ s.

Ryan Iā€™ll need to send you that vinyl early in the New Year.

Jonny,

Does one of those nozzles point at the drive shaft cv gaiter that sits just above the exhaust? I have seen two S1 Exiges and 1 340r catch there. The gaiter splits and dumps grease onto the hot exhaust.

Keith

I have them pointing above and below the fuel rail, the one below covers a few bases including that CV. If it hadnā€™t of done it would now, thanks for the post.

While all the other stuff has been going on, I was bonding and sealing the new floors in (thanks Mark). They were anodized along with the foot rest and front tunnel cover a while ago, Iā€™m really please with the result.

And I am so getting the pedals anodized early in the New Year, they are doing my head in!

Itā€™s a mobile library . . .some classic titles there.
Where is Das Kapital and Mein Kampfe, thicker volumes would have helped, Iā€™m sure?

Lol itā€™s not quite in the same league but ā€œSpy Catcherā€ is just visible in one of the pictures.

That is going to be noisy, super sport exhaust and no cat

What did you use to bond the floor on with John? I have some but unsure about bonding them in and trapping in moisture

Sikaflex Ryan with a bead around the outside. As even a spread as I could and weighted down with a 45mm wedge of MDF and lol mostly hard back books.

Btw with regards the email mate sorry I didnā€™t get back to you, Iā€™ll sort after Christmas if thatā€™s OK?

Ok cheers I will try that then. I think I will seal the old floor first in something to protect the bad areas from further corrosion.

Also regards email no worries no rush by me as you can imagine

Awesome mate. Simply awesome. :sunglasses:

All the ā€˜practiceā€™ on the S2 build shows hereā€¦ it will be the very best S1 in the world.

Trust you have a Ā£100k insurance valuation in placeā€¦ seriously, this is priceless.

Looking forward to seeing you both next year!

Pete really looking forward to catching up buddy

And maybe coming your way later next yearā€¦

Excellent!

Open invite mate! Lots of room(s)!

Only problem is that there is NO demand for fireplaces here!

I am back early Mayā€¦ probably for 2 months plus! Lots of time to meet up with peepsā€¦ and also get 170 (via DVA) out of my Elise! :sunglasses:

Happy Christmas!

Big thanks to Dave for the switch blank and everyone else for there help.

So a few more little jobs completed here and there. New washer jets, silicon pipe and wiper blade. I had the caps striped and re-anodised black.

Roof fixings stripped and given the full POR treatment.

I had a little issue installing the Odyssey battery in itā€™s new position. Some of the cables no longer reached so I decided to fit an isolator switch for the live and a two post junction box for the earth. I drew up and had a bracket made to hold the isolator. Both that and the junction box are fitted to original riv nut fixings that were used originally to fix the battery tray. I bought two extra cables a live and an earth to go from the battery to the isolator and the junction box. When I tidied the loom I stripped back the live wires (4) from the main loom to give me a neater install. All fitted I have to say itā€™s MEGA. Neat, tidy and works perfectly.

I also took the time to fit and clean the fuse and relay boxes to the new wheel arch liner.

After spending a few weeks working on the front Iā€™d noticed that I had zinc coated the latch the wrong colour and the mechanism was faded. Sacre bleu!

Thought it was about time you put some more work in :open_mouth:

You have put the bungs in the wheel arch liners. Official mod is gaffer tape, lighter and it does fall out or catch the tyres. Bungs belong in your cupboard. The car looks amazing, will you be able to drive it in the wet (or dry)? I would not normally show much interest in a very restored or concours car but this very special. The record you have created will become a reference for builders in the future, indeed, I have referred people to it already.

Keith

Excellent work Jonny
I added a isolator switch in the front compartment too. Recently I needed to jump start the car and realized that it was difficult to place the positive clamp.
The PC680 has only small terminals and is hidden down on the floor out of reach. Do you plan any connector or similar thing to allow jump starting the car?

They are a perfect fit Keith, I canā€™t see there being too many issues. Lol and gaffer tape really wouldnā€™t do :open_mouth: And thanks buddy Iā€™m really proud of the work so far.

I do have a conditioner attached Klaus. I could remove the washer bottle and a attach jump leads to a post on the isolator and another to an earth post in the junction box, possiblyā€¦ Other then that Iā€™ll push or call recovery

New pedals.

Centre consul fitted and secure. New heatshrink tube on the gear stick and a new alloy knob. Ok, itā€™s not quite all stock looking I know but I do have a spare consul and original plastic hand grip. The mats are new and a big thanks to Klaus for the carpet under the seats. What do you think, go OE or keep the little bit of blingā€¦ I like it

ā€¦are you fitting a radioā€¦I have a blanking panel.

Keith
