Jonny's S1 Exige Thread. Again!

Also a point I’ve been meaning to make about the car is it started out as a resto mod but over the three years I’ve been doing this it’s become less of a mod and more of a resto. I haven’t and don’t want to add a single hole that shouldn’t be there, it’s important I think. I have however done things like the clutch release, painted the centre consul, changed the dampers, TMR’s, fuel tank etc etc but I have kept or purchased original parts to replace and restore once the car is back on the road. The black around the headlights was a little concern but then to repaint that area Orange is negligible. So too removing the AC but again I have all the parts or at least the important bits. I guess the more I keep the car original the better it’s value will be in the long term.

Sell me the TMR’s JF…

Regards the ceramic coating can you send me some costs jon. Love u

Would like some bits on my system done.

 will do Ryan. Email me tomorrow with what you want doing and I sort it out mate no problem.

Not just yet Rob

Cheers Bud.

So not Zircotec? The colour looks fab IMHO!

Looking forward to seeing the machine next year! :sunglasses:

No not Zircotec but very similar Pete and similarly expensive.

If you decide to sell those TMR’s Jonny can you think of your best CO friend over here first please?

I will do buddy no worries.

I forgot to email you again. Will try again tomorrow haha

Tidied up the loom at the front of the car. Described by John (JDS) as CRISPY

Some before shots, difficult to see but you get the idea.

And after. I reckon I painstakingly removed and recovered 85% of the old tape and split plastic sleeving.

Look bloody amazing Jonny

A little bit more done here.

So that’s a new engine and front clam loom and I’ve recovered all the wiring around the crash structure and engine compartment with just the rear clam loom to finish off. No issues with the interior.

Test fitted the battery. I’m going to fit a 2 post box for the Earth and a Live disconnect both in front of the washer bottle using the existing rivnuts which I taped and cleaned today.

Also reinstalled the new handbrake secondary.

Big thanks to Timbo on MLOC for all his help today, and Keith too for that matter. Not having a resonator valve I was unsure of the route of the hose’s. What we’d established is these were likely removed by the dealers at some point early on. The service book then is no use because of this and my thread pictures were not clear enough.

Service book:

My car thanks to Tim

Boot floor test fitted before it goes off to be anodized. That’s quite exciting in itself as I can immediately drop onto the exhaust as soon as that’s back.

The dash had spent too long looking like this, albeit without the cowl & clocks.

Back together again, the upper left and right dash panels have been trimmed by Allon White’s to match the instrument cowl and soon the steering wheel centre when that comes home. Beautiful embroidery of the S1 Exige logo. Also fitted the FEV gas extinguisher to the front of the car. Pleased with how neat the internal switch looks in place of the blank (no external will be fitted). The switch blank has replaced the old AC switch and Dave (stratosboy) is kindly sending me another to replace the re circulation.

On my car I’m missing the panel that separates the engine bay from the boot. Are the boot floor and the boot separator panel reproductions? If so do you have any drawings you might share or may I order another panel from the same source?

Cheers, Klaus

Actually Klaus leave that with me I may have something I can send you a little after Christmas.

Sounds promising…

Finished off the engine bay extinguisher nozzles. The pipe by the way I’d already plumbed in along side the main harness down the centre through and around the fuel tank.

And a few things back from anodising…

But the big news I (finally) fitted the boot floor, heat shield and exhaust

Wow…just Wow.

Quite.
