Good news, getting there.
Great to hear a VHPD. Well done, JF
Well itās certainly purring now, massive thanks to Gav at Unit 4 Burton.
He made up and fitted fuel & oil hoses. Fitted gear cable bush kit, set up gears, repositioned and adjusted handbrake cable. Bleed brakes, clutch and sorted leaks. Filled and bleed cooling system which required the removal of the heater valve, no longer running AC it was causing temperature issues. Suspension bolts checked, corrected and geometry set.
Car was collected today and delivered back to the paint shop for a touch up here and there. Popping on some Yokohama AD08Rās while the works being done.
Almost thereā¦
Lucky lucky man JF.
Very Cool matey!!
It will look great parked in your lounge!
Just fixed that for you.
Keith
Brands GP Tomorrow, whoop whoop.
What a Friday. Full of optimism about the exige coming back from paint with brand new tyres ready for the final stretch and I get a call from my mate across the road at 4am. Heās called the police, someone is robbing my wheels.
He got away without the wheels but with all the nuts including locking. Finding 20 replacements was a PITA. I had to visit 3 different dealers first thing and still couldnāt find locking nuts. Still havenāt as I write this but itās getting sorted in the next few days.
So gave my wife her car back to go to work and I got a cab in myself. Clamās dressed albeit just the wing to add. The blending and touching up have been done to an excellent standard. Few things still to do, bonnet and splitter werenāt available so they need a little extra work still. Chrome Orange is a bitch!
It was a little filthy so gave it a good clean with the air hose, vac and lots of polish inside and out. Seats and harnesses are in now though, wow honestly itās better then I imagined. Iāve been looking forward to getting them in for ages.
Finally the bonnet and roof, voila!
Sunday was the first time Iāve fitted an S1 Exige rear clam. What a giant ball ache but after a quick call to John (JSR) sorted. I did have two great very excellent spannerers help me out though. Massive thanks to Gaz and Jane. Gave the clam a long dose of sunshine before stretching over the sill.
Once on the biggest issue was the fuel filler which needed repositioning with the wheel arches coming a close second but everything else was straight forward.
So today I popped the lenses around the headlights and put the engine lid on before packing it off to have paint protection and the decals professionally fitted. Itās booked in for MOT Thursday, tax and detailing Friday. Saturday Iāve a few little things to do and Sunday is run in day, all the way Rowsley Station and for Loyus in the Peak.
The next images I post should be exciting
Looks great JF. Hope you have a good time at LiTP.
Absolutely fabulous, JF. See you on Sunday all being well. Iāll have to give mine a good clean . . .
Does look good Jonny, but the sign on the van in the last picā¦ā¦ā¦
Not that I am superstitious or anything
Jonny, do you still need pics of engine cover hinges and latch?
If so Iāll get to work and send emā¦
Steady on Tim
All sorted now Steve, Iāve been bombarding Keith with emails.
Great, glad you got it sorted.
I have just been informed it is the name of your business
Certainly is buddy
Gearbox needs to come off, LitP wonāt be happening this weekend
Tragic.
Oh no!
Thatās a real bugger, I was so looking forward to seeing it
Arrgh, so close. Home stretch now though.
Sorry to hear about the wheels. Fab neighbour, just in the nick of time it sounds like.
Whatās with the cogs?
