Gearbox Wanted

Anyone got any thoughts on losing the boot and using the extra space for extra silencing and exit the exhausts here:

I’m still looking for a good used Toyota gearbox should anyone have one for sale.

Just buy a 2nd hand Celica one  much cheaper than an Exige one

A Celica one would do, not having much luck finding a 190bhp one that’s not done silly miles. Although I’m not expecting a minter for peanuts I would like to get some use out of it while I get mine rebuilt. The search continues.

There was one in Chelmsford on eBay the other week for about £150 not sure if it is still there

I’ve got a brand new one with an LSD but its £1750

I have a C64 that’s just been rebuilt with new 3rd gear, 3rd & 4th synchros and 5th & 6th synchro hub.

Done 24k from new. Was looking for £550 + delivery for it.

Dan

I would love a nice new gearbox with the lsd, cant justify the cost atm though. I’m waiting to hear back on a used gearbox, if that falls through I’ll be in touch roadboy.

That brand new one with the lsd is a steal …

Your right there a new LSD is £500+ on it’s own!

I would personally be looking at the one Stephen has for sale if its all new. See if he will do you a deal fitted…

LSD makes the car imho and one of the essential mods, especially if you intend on tracking it.

By the time you weigh up the cost of fixing your old one, buying and installing a unknown s/hand one which may or may not be good to then have to take out the s/hand one when yours is ready is bonkers!!

All imho

Just done all that to the backend of the race elise. Exhaust isnt through there though as the intercooler is sitting in the boot but i have cut the complete section out of the back end and mounted all the lights behind the new grill on pylons (ready to take a wing if need be)

A bit more than that I think m8 …
Also when you factor in the skilled labour to open up the box and fit the lsd along with new diff bearings , then you begin to realise how much of a bargain that box off Stephen@ trackclub really is !

Not finished, but gives you an idea of the overall look…

Gotta hand it to you Gav, you certainly know how to build a tasty S2…loving your work :sunglasses:

Looks kinda …

thanks ben, I have ditched the reverse and fog lights and now have 4 brake and indicators that light up in pairs…

sort of knew it would look ok but the more it comes together the more Im liking it myself.

going to get all inside the boot painted in matt blk to finish it off nicely.

:sunglasses: I need to build a Gav-Cave before I even attempt to build (1/2 build) another car.

Hmmm!!

Thankfully this one was half built before i got my hands on it…

Its all but done just the lots of little bits again… arghhh ;pullshairoutthathasntturnedgrey:

Very funny, sorry couldnt see the pic last night on my phone.

John and I were thinking more along the lines of Bender from Futurama… ‘Kiss my shiny metal ass’

hahaha

Looking very nice Gav!!
