Floor corrosion

Just got the car back.

My floors have been de bumped cleaned and have some nice new tailored carpets!

The carpets are held in place by ‘proper’ aluminium screw turn fasteners that are bonded to the floor! Look quite cool

And then the original ‘Exige’ mats velcro onto the new mats so have a proper fixing and dont slide around!

Finally no more double sided velcro stuck to the floor!

I will post some pics later

Which dealer did it Paul?

Ian

Ian,

Nick Whales in Brum but Im sure theres a dealer closer to you

When I took it in they said the parts were on back order so if anybody wants it done at their local dealer then you might have to book it in advance!

At last a few piccys!!!

Picture 1 shows the floor stripped and treated…
Picture 2 shows the new carpets and screw fixings which are bonded to the floor!
Picture 3 show the original mats which then velcro themselves onto the new mats underneath!

As for weight…Well I reckon the new mats a are lighter. They are ever so thin and fit perfectly.

Yes I did say that right…They fit perfectly…Obviously lotus dont make them then

Treated Floor

New Carpets

Original Carpets

Hmmmmm that looks like the carpets the S2’s have fitted

Excellent! Perhaps we’ll get the S2 suspension as a recall too!

You can roll on the floor in a Bentley, but in an Exige… ???

What’s the concensus here? How many are going to get it done or have already got it booked in to be done…I’m not sure I’d trust a main dealer with my car anymore!

It’s not like it’s a moving part steve!

Ian - I think the concern is, will they destroy the rest of my interior while they are doing it

Ah, I see your point!

Andy, what interior?

Bruno

It came with one - you’ve been to dealer havent you

Ian - I think the concern is, will they destroy the rest of my interior while they are doing it

There was a bit of dirt in the car after it was done but wasnt too bad… A quick vacuum and wipe down of the aluminium and it was clean again

You can see on the floors little craters where the corrosion was taking place so left long enough and you would be able to push Fred Flinstone style

The only reason I had mine done was because it was in the dealer having the throttle bodies looked at…but thats another story!!!

Anyway even if my car doesnt go anywhere I can now sit in comfort in Exige Red label

Andy, yes I have…
Mind you, we have only a few over here but they all are quite good, well, at least leaving the interior alone
robbo: enjoy the Exige Red Label then
laters,
Bruno
