Emerald ECU for Toyota!

Well then their phone must be off the hook because all I get is a busy tone…

Or he knew it was me…

So we had a nice talk and I want this ecu, I mean I need this ecu right now since my 05 ecu just took a shiet…

Speak to it nicer Frank !!

Maybe your forcefull manner has put it on a go slow

Seems to be some differences with the US cars from a dash point of view, we might need to get hold of a US car to do some testing.

Better get another 05 one with your calibration on it if you need the car back on the road!!

I am pretty sure the dials are the same behind the super touring dash so should not be an issue afaik

Good luck with that in the UK…

There are more modified Lotus in the US than all other markets combined…
If you can’t supply you can’t supply…and I would have bought two today if they worked.

only one way to tell send him one

however my car was the first UK car to be cracked by Charlie X in the USA, it was sent to him and it was cracked flashed and had the UK gotham done on it on Charlie’s US car, so it certainly worked this was round.

As I say I think what Stephen is thinking is that there would be a canbus issue with the US instruments due to the dash type, however my car is a very late super touring so it has the soft touch 08/US dash yet has the white instruments that were used on all cars up till the 08 MY black dials.
I am pretty sure the US cars just ran a super touring dash layout so used the same instruments as mine, thus the same canbus as all exiges up to 08MY.

Clear as mud? well I know what I said  What I ment was it should work.

Boothy

Hell I could just put in an AIM dash if that’s all…

So what’s the scoop on this ECU is it real or vaporware…?

We’ll probably have to try and tie up a plan to send our TD over to the US and plan on having a chassis dyno and a couple of cars to test and make sure it works, ideally a cable car and a DBW car.

It’ll work regardless from an engine control point of view but given that Lotuc can build two cars back to back with consecutive chassis numbers and there will be differences you can’t guarantee f##k all…

You only need one car for it to work on… If it works on mine it will work on any modified Lotus…

If this ECU is better than the OEM as you’ve said load it with a base 260 tune with wideband input and send it over, it will be tuned on a DynaPac hub dyno…

Every oem tune is the same for that model car they don’t vari between consecutive chassis numbers…

The only difference between the 05 and 06 N/A cars are throttle operation and the difference between the supercharged cars vs N/A is the Air Temp sensor pick up …N/A cars pick it up from the MAF and SC cars pick it up from the TMAP sensor…It’s that simple…
My car uses a TMAP sensor mounted in the intake manifold…

I could bring one over for you Frank. I will be in your neck PCMCIA woods next weekend.

I really hope the Elise Parts ECU really works because if not the Lotus tuning world is over since Essex and VF do not own the CharlieX tuning software they just lease it… [/quote]

Blimey …leased ??.. It had bloody better work then or things are indeed serious for a good many people !!! :frowning:

Charlie will no doubt pop up somewhere, I understand it’s not the 1st time he’s gone AWOL. Probably off playing with another IT project.

He might of moved back to Chorley

ECU’s cummin yer ears

LOL!

So where is this ECU, I’m waiting ?

Bustin’ my balls again…Sorry Frank, I know you happen to need an ECU but it isn’t going to speed the process up.

We’re doing a board and connector plug for a cable car at the moment so it doesn’t need an adaptor loom. It will fit the same case conveniently.

Final prototype is signed off, we have a 2ZZ on the engine dyno for calibration and then a 2ZZ SC will go on for base calibration followed by 2ZZ Turbo, 1ZZ etc. First batch of cases are made and the first customer car (2-Eleven SC) will be on track in a couple of weeks.

The engine dyno has been set up with a full Lotus chassis loom, throttle pedal, dash and standard ECU etc to pretty much replicate a car in the dyno cell. We have the Lotus map anyway but it’ll be our own calibration that goes on as the base map.
