Help please
The Cartek isolator, DO I…take new live and neutral leads from the battery to the live and neutral on the isolator?
DO I…remove the smaller lead on the live battery terminal and connect that to the “power to fuel/ignition” on the isolator?
NO!!! NOT the red one John!

Was the blue after all (really was hey Sean )
So far I have a new live lead (that’s two total inc original) to and from the battery and isolator.
With Sean’s help I have a new neutral lead from the isolator to the battery and the old lead (from the battery) and smaller secondary wire now go to the earth post on the chassis.

This is the bit I’m not sure about, the smaller second live wire that used to be on the live (battery) terminal is now connected to power to fuel/ignition on the isolator the results: Engine off the Cartek works, engine on it doesn’t it just makes the immobilisor light flicker…ENGINE STILL RUNS albeit just…so I’m thinking this is not the right wire…which one is ?
Wiring diagram! web page
PHEW sorted in the end! Had to wire to and from the live at the back of the barrel to both lives on the isolator (it’s the blue one, had no red or brown). Earth(N) quite straight forward came from the battery.
Did the extinguisher at the same time…
Airbox out.

Wire route…there’s a handy little hole there to get the wires to the barrel just by the rack. Had mad nozzel brackets in picture also.

Wiring route, a bit of a mess but you get the idea.

Cup switch holes were too big so had to make new plates to fit over (disc in picture) bonded and painted.

Cleaned up, just waiting for new seats (and wheel & hub) before fitting extinguisher. Waiting for internal switch plate as well.

Obviously no more stereo so no more speakers (5kg). Will probably leave out the plastic thingy and just pop the harness bar back in! Will keep seat belts for now…

That post was actually wrong…I’ll post the wiring diagram later. Thanks for your help though Sean 33% there mate. The little red (& blue) wire turned out to be a no longer used tr**ker. Removed the live from the battery to wire in live to and from barrel.
Good work, that man.
Much better than watching Sunday afternoon TV!
Yeah fair play matey!!
I still can’t get my head around why you had to mess with any of the wires on the ignition barrel
No mate I know totally mind blowing…I must of put the snips to the wire four or five times taking them away putting them back …I knew it was the correct wire but just didn’t want to cut it! A mighty relieved when it worked though

I guess so
Very nice job John!
YOU must have big ones cutting those holes in the clam!!!
Lets hope the system NEVER gets used… like the radio eh!
Thanks Pete, I didn’t give it too much thought till the dremmel slipped…then the entire road new! There’s also the clam cracking to worry about when tightning the bolts
You know the radio I can count on the one hand how many times I’ve used it and even then there was a fault with the speakers going off! I’m just wondering about geting rid of the seat-belts while I’m waiting for other parts
Quality job
You could do a nice sideline in fitting them for other people.
YCRTA I’d like that setup.
I’d get rid of the carpets before the 3 point belts. Thought about getting rid of the belts but much prefer them for road use.

Carpets are…almost gone , just keeping the sides!
And the final image now I have the plate!

I am just having my 6-point install done at Tech 9 (pics being taken) using the Lotus FIA mounting kit (125 per seat!!!) and retaining the road belts.
Will post pics and details when I have them.
I have been after a set of rings and caps for ages! no one ever seems to pick up the phone at Lotus Sport. My application will involve a mechanical switch, so i will need a bit of depth in the cup. where did you get yous from?
