That will be you with your fake tan on then Pesk!!
On the S1, S2’s catching fire thing, I know you were joking, but I have to say for that 20 seconds or so from when I new my car was on fire, to when I had stopped and got out and realised I was OK and the car was OK was one of the scariest times of my life.
There was a huge bang and then I instalntly smelt burning, then within about 5 seconds the cabin was so full of smoke that I couldn’t see the dash board, let alone where I was going. I threw my arm in the direction of the extinguisher button and thank god I hit it first time. I opened the door, so I could see and steer the car onto the grass, then my belts were off and I was out. I also remember being mildly anoid that I was getting covered in foam, but then remembered that this was infact a good thing!!!
Very Scarey, don’t do track days anymore without my fire proofs on.
To be honest, I guess S1’s are more prone to fires, as the exhaust wraps around most of the engine. If something does go bang, there is a good chance you are gonna cover a very hot exhaust in flamable stuff. The audi’s, Honda’s and Toyotas obviosuly have the exhaust on the back, so if you did throw a rod, I reckon you would get away without too much oil getting on the exhaust.
Really Rob I totally appreciate your advice mate, you know that
And Sean/Will taken your advice, I’ve had a word with Lifeline (Very Excellent) and they are going swap the 2.25L for the 4L. So that’s 2 nozzles for both. They also said there is no corrosive problems. For the sake of 2kg I guess it’s the safe way to go!

Sod off, I don’t believe a word of it
Glad you’re going for the bigger jobbie - but why not go “gas” at the same time You’re going to have 40K tied up in your car (at cost), yet you’re trying to save the odd 200, which could save you & the car in the event of a disaster, without fuss!

It does the same job for fooks sake without any corrosion 200 is 200 (+vat btw)! They both put out fires, they’ve both got MAS & FIA testing so what’s the issue lol. Anyway if the fire gets so out of control that 4L of foam doesn’t put it out I’ll grab a hose and shove it your *rse!
What’s more you’ll find the West Midlands to be the best place on the face of the UK I assure you…Up The Villa!

Jonny, being serious:
[color:“blue”] Gas extinguishers are 4 times more effective than foam and do not leave any damaging residue. This means that an extinguisher can be smaller an lighter saving up to 3 kg on a plumbed in installation [/color]
