Another Winter (ahem!) Project !

Thanks Dave,
Yeup, beating the works Peugeot squad by seven laps with two hours to go was a nice feeling  awesome track and our aero meant that we were hussling most things across the top of the mountain (getting our arse handed to us down the straights mind!)

I’m struggling on with minor whiplash by lounging around in Dubai with the family (ill live!). Car damage didn’t actually look too bad when loading it. Wheel, exhaust, diffuser, toe link, possible front crash structure, new clams, splitter etc. will have to raid the spares package, but nothing too sinister!

Fair play Simon. Great effort from you boys as usual!!!

About time I updated this !

Things coming along quite nicely…

Two milestones achieved today too…

The car ran again for the first time in a long time !! - which means I somehow managed to put things back at least mostly in the right place !

It’s also back on it’s own four wheels (albeit new ones!) for the first time in a long time !

Needs setting up yet, but it looks a heck of a lot lower than before already !

Well done Dave great progress!

Bollox I knew I forgot something, blingy hoses  do you think if ask nice tomorrow Track Group might chuck a few on lol…

Looking BEAUtiful mate :sunglasses:

Well impressed Dave well done mate.

Looking really great!

Did you and JF get a ‘group buy’ on the gold film!!!

Looking great Dave. All very nicely done indeed.

One thing that you’ve probably noticed with the lower ride height, is that the front part of oversills get very, very close to the ground, especially under braking. I just cut them about and adapted mine to flatten them off before they could get ripped off, but they still got mullered eventually. Rex Stamp got rid of his for the same reason. I think Scuffers trimmed them back on the Aussie cars too. I’ve now got rid of them completely for this year and made some to my own design out of ally. And instead of them being closed off, I’ve made them with an opening and an exit, to let high pressure air bleed out of the wheel wells.

Something to think about anyway if you’re going to run it low.

Cheers bud - I literally could not believe it when I lowered it down off the axle stands for the first time… I was like “Ahh, I’m gonna need to raise it up a hell of a lot…” - then measured the back and it was close to 90mm so not far off really !!

Guess I’ve got used to seeing the thing on axle stands sitting quite high… it looked like a toy car when I rolled it out onto the drive!

Can’t wait to try it out !

The roof is just black GelCoat at the moment - not had it painted… but I’m gonna put the bodywork back on and see how it looks, quite like the black roof contrast at the moment !

Looking good Dave, very tidy!

Well, last minute, but it’s looking like it should be ready for a tootle round on Friday all going well !!

Whether or not it will go in a straight line let alone around a corner I don’t know… never done a Geo myself before but being last minute, I didn’t get chance to get anyone else to do it…so I gave it a go today !

Well, it made it to Anglesey and back in one piece !
