James have you heard from 661 yet re borrowing his templates??
[quote=scoob]Recon I might paint the body work inside the pod black too

I think this would be a good idea, would really finish it off. Can recommend Plasticoat, its a rubberised finish that can be peeled off so not permanent. Comes in a spray can or a pot to be brushed.
Yep, borrow away

Thanks again for both your help. Really do hope mine come out the same as yours.
BUT make 'em your self for a fraction of the cost.
Even if you buy these you still have to remove the old grills and that is where the work is. Recon Lotus must have shares in Sikaflex…the amount they use.
I used nothing like what I had to cut off and still have a very secure fixing.
Thanks for the advice Scoob, you’re probably right I’ll give it a go. Is Tigerseal the same as Sikaflex? Just I have a tube of that here
Can I borrow the template when it’s next free?

You’ll need to contact 661 re template as it is his creation.
James N has it at the moment. Good luck
Happy for them to do the rounds.
Just want them back in one piece
Thanks 661 Who’s next in the queue after James?
recon it will be Dave. He’ll start knocking them out 80 the pair
Yeah I think Tiger Seal is pretty much the same stuff as Sikaflex
I need to find a woman like 661 grill template as they sure get around lol
So long as she comes home after you lot have finished with her
Yep, I changed my air intake side grills to accept the larger mesh some years back. I managed to get hold of some mesh from the rear clam of a smashed 2-11 :up
OP, The motor sport roof that came with my Cup car came without mesh to start with (unlike all the later ones it seems).
It also has the inner lip that supports the mesh and accepts the screws that hold it in place trimmed back/removed, still leaving a rounded entry lip, not razor sharp.
Never had any issues with collecting dead leaves or animals… :lol
Well I received the jig and mesh on Thursday. I am going home monday to change cars so I can do the grills at work. Should give me some joy as not much fun working in a bunker lol
Just done my side grills today, and they look loads better. I just used the old ones as the template. Hardiest part was getting old ones off.
This ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Did you say what is the best method to removing the old sikaflex?
A very sharp knife (scalpel) and 3 tons of patience
