Do you think you could get away with out an exhaust heat shield if have a manifold coated in this???
Looks good - I’m thinking i/c as well
Don’t think you could. It helps, yes… but where the manifold runs so close to the firewall (in an S1 at least), you’ll need something to stop the temperatures getting too hot. An air-barrier with an intervening heat-shield is still probably far more effective at doing this.
I use Zircotec on my manifold and it is the business, looks good and keeps temps right down, not sure if I would be brave enough to use it on an S1 then remove the heat shielding though
And,gram for gram is probably around the same price as gold !@@!
I’ve used Zircotec to good effect too.
Yeah, they certainly dont give it away!!

Sean, would you run without the heat shield?
Yes
anyone know what this costs?
i couldnt find anything on pricing either, anyone?
I was recently quoted 280+vat and delivery for an Eliseparts, K series manifold.
My 2bular manifold for my S2 cost ~300 to get coated, that is in blue which was more expensive than standard colours
Just wonder i know it will reduce the heat in the bay but will it affect the longevity of the manifold or the part itself since the heat is not dissipating as it should be?
I think that is a good question. The heat has to go somewhere. The packing in the silencer is certainly gonna get it.
I had my k series manifold coated two years ago inside and out by camcoat and have never had any padding or heatshield on the bulkhead!
But Marc, you are quite well self ‘padded’ however!
s’a bit harsh Pete!
I like being padded too !!!
I like my padded cell if that counts?

lol shame I won’t be bringing my ‘k’ series to Angelsey I could have shown you the way round there as well
