Frank Iām london based, so if you need any pointers. Where is the Mrs friend located?
Fly into Heathrow, and get a hire car. If you donāt want to stay too central so you can park a car I can point you towards nicer places to stay. If you wanna be in the center then Covent Garden is great.
Finally there is a LOT of shit food in the tourist trap areas, buying a good food guide is well worth doing.
