Hmmmmmmm Me thinks i might have been born yesterday
It’s a nice spec. I wish mine had rear seat belts.
I wouldnt mess with him he has “doge viper stirps”
does anyone know why it is so cheap ?
I don’t know, I think the side air bags sound pretty dangerous to me
I would just like the electric seats maybe they are heated as well
Interesting ad - watch this space
Isn’t that the latest scam Lotus sale on Ebay. Think Will B found it this morning on SELOC.
I don’t know, I think the side air bags sound pretty dangerous to me
What about the passenger airbags? And the ESP? and the Power Assisted Steering? and tilting steering wheel?
Ah, yes, forgot, it’s an S2. Should have all these things…
What is the scam ?
What is the scam ?
It’s not his to sell! It’s owned by Harrogate Horseless Carriage web page who took it in part ex from a member of Nyloc.
Apart from the daft description, it’s “located” in Chorley, & the seller’s phone number is London.
I have, earlier today, spoken with Harrogate Horseless Carriage to advise them of the potential scam.
I Always find it a little Strange Why would anyone do this on a Specialist Vehicle Would it not make for sense to scam say an Astra
Especial one which was produced in relativley low numbers not difficult to "Un Earth " the scam
They Must think people looking to own a Lotus are Idiots
And idiots would never buy a half-finished plastic car from a company in Norfolk that’s always nearly bust, oh no.

move over…thanks - made me chuckle
Hang on. the car on HHC website doesn’t have the ridiculous “Move Over/ Thanks” lettering and there are more snaps in the eBay ad, so can someone explain how this “scam” works? I noted, Pesky, that the location was Chorley and the phone was London . . .maybe I’m not wise to the world and possess non of the low-down cunning supposedly required of someone in my profession. But I am getting on a bit . . .
when the garage first got the car it had the words on it, they removed them surprisingly!
Why do they make it so obvious its a scam ??
A 20k + car for 12995 or whatever, why not price it at the true value but say 2k less
Ebay is full of these dodgy scam deals at the moment
If it sounds too good to be true… it usually is
Thommo
Just for clarification, the car is “well known” (particularly to Nyloc members), - the original owner, Danny, brought it to a couple of Nyloc meetings last year. He traded it in at HHC for a TVR (since swapped for a Porsche), & the photos in the eBay ad were taken at HHC.
What is the scam though, how does it work, why would anyone give him cash when presumably he doesnt have the car ? Do the police get involved ?

Copied from Seloc, after someone emailed the “seller”:
[color:“blue”]I recieved the following:
020 79791628
Few words about the car: it is in perfect condition, never been involved in an accident, there’s not even a scratch nor dents on it.Everything from the motor to the tiers and mirrors is shining and looking brand new. I have a clear title for it , no liens or loans.
I understand you want to inspect the car .i do the same when i buy a car.unfortunatelly i am in US right now and i can,t meet you to show you the car.thats why i decided to close the deal through www.escrow-europa.com which is the safest way to buy and sell online.it is the only escrow company recommended by ebay.
If you don,t know how escrow europa works i will explain it for you:
1.buyer and seller agree to the terms of the transaction
2.buyer makes payment to escrow europa
3.seller ships item to buyer
4.buyer aproves item (15 days inspection period)
5.seller is paid
As soon as i will have the confirmation from escrow that the funds have been deposited to their account, i will immediately start the shipping process.
The car will be delivered to your address in no more than 10 working days. You will be given a 15 days inspection period from the day you receive the car at home.
If you decide to hold the car, then you will have to authorize escrow to release the funds to me, and the transaction will be completed. If you will not be satisfied with the car, you will be able to send the car back through the same shipping company, and ask escrow to return the funds to you.
Though i am sure you will love the car and will not want to return it, it is good to know that you do have this second option available.
So if you are really interested please register with www.escrow-europa.com and start a new transaction as a buyer.the escrow fees and the shipping cost are supported by me.
Thanks
