It appears that it is not only on E-bay that there are scammers or people who think we are stupid. I’ve just been offer �22,700 for my Exige S with touring pack, Air Con and traction control in PX for a new Exige S with Sports and Supersports plus Air Con for Sept when my car will be 1 year old. That is from an official Lotus dealer and over �4000 less than I’ve been offered by 2 other Lotus dealers. That would be a loss of over �16,000 of the offical list price in 12 months. To thick to work that out as a percentage but must be around 40%!
Yeah, but 17.5% of that is bloody VAT, which you lose the minute you first drive away from the dealer
Understand that and also realise that the dealers have to make money but that price is about �9000.00 less than what they are selling for at the moment for same age same spec. That is a lot of profit on a second hand car. They don’t even have to put a warranty on it as it stil has a factory warranty.
This does not make sense, I was offered trade in of 33k against new model with a few bits (total cost 42k) only 2 weeks ago. My car is a year old in september exige s with packs!
That is a very good price was that for Sept or now. If it was Sept who was it from? The cost of the car I’d be ordering would be in the region of 41k.
