Now that looks good mate. I’m just thinking about doing the same with my wing after reading Trackdriver and also seeing something similar with my wing in Japan.
[quote=TarmacTerrorist]I managed to get the engine out of it’s storage box this weekend to give it a good once over, hopefully without having to take it apart too much… It was bought as an unknown but looking at it now it would appear to be in very good condition, its just missing a fuel rail… The supercharger on it all seems good, pistons and bores in excellent condition, new plugs put in, Lotus 270 GT4 supercharger pulley fitted, TRD uprated thermostat fitted, TRD lightweight flywheel, clutch plate and cover fitted. I had the cam cover off and all looks like new in there. New belt fitted (waiting for a new d/sump belt to be delivered). Sump plate off and all looks good, totally std inside as best I could see…
Most interesting part was the collection tray for the dry sump system that replaces the std sump pan. It is a beautifully machined part out of a single piece of billet aluminium. It is a work of art!! Sorry i don’t know who made it so no bother asking, at a guess Pace, mind it would not of been cheap…

Gav, do you know who made this dry sump?
looks like MWR?
I honestly dont knwo who has made it.
Its not MWR, its not Pace either as I stood talking to their sales guy the other month. He seemed to think it may be from a company called TItan as he was saying they do a lot with billet. Most of the others you see (mwr, pace etc) are all cast items not machined.
Whoever made it i doubt there would be much change out of 3k, its been hacked out from a big old chunk of ali. I do know that it is exactly the same pan they used on the factory GT3 cars, i just keep forgetting to ask the right person every time i see them as to who did the work…

That’s the one Sector111 is selling, right ?
edit: says so in the link also
No its not that one either…
is it gonna be ready for Donny in Oct??
Thats the plan!!
It should be fired up in the next week or so hopefully.
Great news, I look forward to getting out your way
Can’t wait to have a proper look st it Gav.
Hopefully I will get it out before then for a shake down, otherwise its probably going to be me getting out the way of everyone else as I won’t be going balls out on its first run…
There really isn’t an awful lot more to do to get it up and running, the ProAlloy feul tank is in (sorry no pics I forgot to take one before it got bolted in, ill take some when I get the car up higher on the ramps). Likewise the mocal oil cooler is all plumbed in it just needs fixing back to the bulk head. The seperate oil cooler idea went out the window when Pace were unable to modify the inlets on the 2-11 drysump tank. It was all designed to work with a laminova mounted on the other side of it so I just made life easy for myself and went with that in the end (and kept the whole lot nice and tidy without hoses running all over the ocky).
Just like putting the cherry on the cake I’m saving the nicest components to go on and be set up til the very last… Not next but the week after ill be taking a little road trip with the car down to visit Russ at Mick Garner Racing to get the suspension it is going to be wearing in it final guise put on…

Fascinating reading the whole thread Gav but the bit above, in particular, rather intrigues me…
Team Custard back in the mix?

I thought it might…
Very Nice…but you do need to get an ashtray Gav
LoL, you sound like my missus…
Cheers
Cool, cant wait to hear what flavour Ohlins you have gone for.
I’ve got the suspension at home, I’ve actually had it for the last couple of years now, just sitting there looking all lovely and shiny waiting for its day to arrive.
Call it good luck or just a case of being at the right place, at the right time (at the right price), I’ve somehow got my grubby little mits on a set of the TTX40’ as used on the later GT3 cars…
They are stunning just to look at, Im hoping the ride quality is going to even better… (bloody well should be for how much a set would cost new!!) My experience of Ohlins so far tells me they are going to be good!
