Winter Project

Nice :sunglasses:

Worried! Does this mean ‘Quasi’ Exige status?! :astonished:

dont be Ian, all is well

The scoop and rear clam are now all but finished. I still have a hole to cut out for the fuel breather connection for the ATL quick fill system and that is pretty much about it done… It will all be getting painted next Monday, only thing left to do on the body work is to fix the roof panel.

Ive also offered one of the doors on this afternoon just to get a feel for the look, very happy indeed (still needing fettled to get the shut lines right) -

lmao, it was even funnier than I remember…

Couple more of the roof scoop/rear clam section being finished off -

Standard intercooler opening offered back into place (compared to the new opening) -

A few more gratuitous pics of the car  -

Doors look great with the matt grey :sunglasses:

Thing looks like a friggin missile Gav!

Thanks Ian, I’m very pleased with it. A few compromises have had to be made along the way but never the less it has all turned out pretty much how i hoped it would.

The rear end is all but finished off, I just have the final design for the brackets for the aerocatch posts on the wing supports (just used a bit of angle to get it where it needed to be) and I also need to look at the engine cover fixings.

Totally mega Gav :sunglasses:

When you’re done we’ll have to organise a trackday so we can all drool and get a pax :sunglasses:

Thanks Ben.

Yes we’ll have to do a track day before the summer is out, thats of course if it ever gets here!!

I’ll have to make sure I’ve got rid of all the sellotape and blutac before I take anyone out, especially on the pax seat side…

You didn’t tell me it was 32 paegs long Gav I had to do it in stints!!! lol

Looking good though ;)Any luck wih a box yet?

I haven’t Phil but I will get it sorted soon as can mate, I could do with it here tbh…

The car is now back with me from the body shop, Im just waiting for the side pods and light covers to be painted (im going matt silver on them… not sure what its going to look like but can soon change it if it looks shite). I still have the roof to sort and thats it all done on the body work front (i think anyway).

Im not bothering with the extra splitter just yet, it just makes it all look a bit too front heavy tbh and just doesnt work in black, it really needs to be in body colour. I still have it here so may put it on later…

Im only going to be using the 2 inboard lights on the rear at this time. Im going to use the outer 2 holes to connect ducting to the back of the intercooler using a 2-11 inlet shroud. Im hoping the low pressure zone behind the car will aid in pulling air through the intercooler. Will it work? I have the faintest… There’s no reason why it shouldn’t… I’ll do some testing once the car is up and running with and without it ducted to the rear light apertures and see the difference if any. If it works Ill open the holes out fully of the light fixings to give the best airflow -

Offering the wing and rear diffuser into place to make the relevant brackets and tie rods up, the diffuser is an original factory GT3 one, yummy! -

Love it :sunglasses:

hmm maybe swap the rear light and duct positions over?

great work btw

Any reason why Tim??

The outboard holes give me a much nicer run with the ducting upto the back of the intercooler…

Also the 2 holes on the 2-11 shroud are 100mm OD where as the 2 holes in the clam for the lights are 130mm OD.

Im not sure which way is going to be best to pipe it up… I can either run 130mm pipe all the way back to the intercooler and reduce it at the shroud, or I can reduce it at the light socket and run 100mm back to the intercooler…???

Im feeling the latter is going to be the best, in teh sense a smaller pipe increases the speed which reduce the pressure?? (nobody ask me to design them a plane will they!!!)

Looking good matey!!

I do love the mesh effect Gav, unique idea, I’ve never seen that before. Same in place of the lights or open as is?
