Winter Project

Yes your right, it is a set of ear protectors…

Im not sure why, probably how David has the forum set-up but the images aren’t very big when posted on the thread. They are however quite high res images so if you use the zoom function on your computer the detail gets better…

Yeah Gav will tell us all anything. I reckon he will use them to keep his ankles warm…

Can you stand on it? Yes you can…

Cutting the clam to suit the undertray (dont get excited Jonny your about to see some naked carbon…) -

Awesome!! Fair play Gav, but you do only weigh 4kg’s. Can Lem stand on it?!?!

Glad it’s not just my screen then…

Glad it’s not just my screen then…

Cheeky, I’ll have you know I weigh in at a healthy 68kg’s (more with my boots on…)

Certainly around the front I reckon we could both stand on it, I think I’m only going to need one tie rod each side to hold the outer extremities.

Don’t be too keen on adding brake cooling ducts. Have only come across 1 Elise/Exige that did need it since '96, and only at one track, and it wasn’t an S2, and it had way more power than you are going to have.

Put some of the funky AP brake paint on first to see what temps you are seeing. It wouldn’t surprise me if you will never need them.

Cheers John, I’ll do just that.

The “coolest dressed” man in the LOTRDC Paddock, Exiges.com & it now seems in the workshop too…

It’s the Ohlins hat that does it…

Does it have a 36 or 48mm peak?

I’ve heard the 36 peak is lacking somewhat…

Don’t think it matters, but it is two way

Bump or rebound …
Either looks fun lol

Not a lot to update this week so far guys, I must admit I’ve had a few days off from it while I’m waiting for the brackets to be made for mounting the sides of the front clam to.

Soon as they are back with me which should be tomorrow and ive got them in postion the front clam will be all but done and I can send it off to the paint shop for prep and prime.

I’ve been promised next week for the pedal box so providing it arrives I can get the rest of the front finished and start in the cabin.

Only thing I’ve managed to do is play around with some ideas for the i/c ducting from the roof scoop. Of course I had grand ideas of fabricating some fancy ducting but after racking my brain how to keep it simple and be flexible, I found out an old piece of 10" spiral ducting which was lurking at work which I think will do the job nicely. It was round when I started but with a bit of squishing it will go pretty much in to the shape I require. I just need to buy a new piece which is a bit longer and not all manky.

Ribbed for your pleasure mate

LoL, at 10" mate even I wouldn’t even feel the sides…

It’s certainly a simple solution which will get me up and running a lot quicker.

Have you been watching Blue Peter Gav?

I had my weekly dose just like the rest of us…

Paul from Heaton Park Coach Works has been in this afternoon to look at the rear clam, roof scoop design and other bits he is going to need to do before he can paint. I think I gave him a mild heart attack… Good on him though he said he was up for a challenge, and I know he will do an excellent job.
