I want to get a new filter for my TRD, however I hear they are the same as a standard toyota filter and are cheap as chips from Toyota, anyone know?
I thought K+N did one that fits the TRD?
Toyota Camry I think .
K&N also do one …about 40 quid.
K&N eBay Part No 33-2145-1
Toyota part number
17801-03010
Can you fit the K+N without any DT?
The Toyota number posted by jfk is what I use and is only a 15 or so
Neil.
Ta, I think I’m going to go with the toyota part, I just don’t like the oil based filters so close to the MAF
DT??
DT?? [/quote]
Delerian Tremors!
Dad’s Training
You training him now Mr P?
LOL! DT, its short for Driver Training, I made it up myself
Ade are the K+N panels oiled? I did not think so but I could be wrong. If oiled I agree totally, I hate oil filters as they kill MAF’s.
If oiled K&N’s kill MAF’s why do they do it??
Becuse K&N don’t care and want to sell filters
There’s got to be more to it than that, otherwise people would be suing them right left and center
I am going to report them to the RSPCMAF.
Well my MAF has lasted 30,000 miles with a K&N oiled filter so I guess it most be true.
We clearly need a dyno printout to resolve this one.

Lol
I’ve been reading lots of google results on the above and the general consensus seems to be people have problems when they over oil the filters. Having said that if the Toyota filters are 15 that’s pretty cheap anyway
I wish my K&N replacement filters were 15, they are 45 a pop although they are washable.
