Datsun 240Z
Saab 99 Turbo (superb!)
Lambogardo

Some other tasty ones :-

Hahaha, you’ve forgotten that very tasty (& rather ancient)Renault Laguna from 3 years ago. At the time I bet you thought it was the nearest you’d ever get to owning a Lambogoonee

Wow. That’s a good score, Russ!

Is that list in chronological order?
Seems pretty crazy buying an Eclat that late in the list

He did, & what a pile of shite it was - don’t think it had run for about 15 years. I believe it was meant to be a “restoration investment”, but… It certainly detracted from the other machinery chez RussT

LOL, sounds like a wise ‘investment’

Now I’m wondering what’s currently in Russ’ stable…

WOW you guys rock between you theres some hot metal oh and some lemons

err, just bought a Series 3 Land Rover as well. The concept of steering is very interesting, I think the idea is that you try and give it some bias and hope for the best. Still it’s all good fun and no need to move my Road Angel over.

Sorry to revive such an old thread but I stumbled across this on one of my random searchings, and bloody hell!!! Between you lot you must have owned damn near every significant performance car ever .

And Mr Admin, dear God I want to live in your garage, thats simply stunning .

Also, Mr P, your Suzuki Jeep, do you happen to remember which model it was, only my Dad gave us an SJ413 to play with in the woods, sorry, I mean, to learn to drive in; and ever since Ive had a bit of an unhealthy interest in them.

Anyway, these lists made for very interesting reading on a rather uninteresting afternoon .

David

It was an SJ410, which I “personally” imported in 1983*, cos there was then a quota restriction on Jap manufacturers selling directly to the UK. By personal import, this was in fact a trip for 30 of us arranged by a local dealer, & what a great trip it was too We sailed overnight from Hull to Rotterdam (ie stayed up drinking all night), then collected the cars, after having had a very pleasant lunch in Delft. Finally, the overnight ferry back to Hull (buy a pressie for the missus on board, before more drinking).

I tried Grolsch for the first time on that trip - used to be fancy stoppers on the bottles to keep the stufff fresh, & you could return the empties to the “offie” in the UK, & get money back!

Those were the days

  • Thinking about it, it may have been 1984, not 1983.
