I just sold an item to a guy from Hungary with him having my bank details and him also arranging UPS to collect …
All went A1 … no problems whatsoever.
I have spoken to my bank on this subject before and they say that money can only travel into my account and not out when I sell something this way.
Speak to your bank and ask the question matey.
Ps. I always use the bank transfer method after being fooked over by Paypal once.
I’ll NEVER use PayPal again …
Andy,
When I sold my last exige over seas I had this dilema. As most of it was financed up by lotus, I gave them authority to talk to the buyer. He made payment direct to them and they emailed me saying they had no further interest in the vehicle. The buyer was happy (as I presume he felt better paying lotus finance rather than me) and I was happy (as the finance company took the risk not me!). I dont know if this is an possible option for you?
Car is paid for now Gav so would need to be direct transfer to me.
He could be totally genuine but other than constant e-mails about wanting it he has asked very little about the car. Oh he’s called elvis too which I am not convinced by lol.
Mate, just because someone has your bank details it does not mean they can hack your account. But if you are worried, just call your bank and open up another account with zip in it and give him those details.
I think we can all get a bit paranoid about all of this stuff… just make certain however the funds are cleared with your banks approval before you let your car go!
Exactly Pete !
Secretly I reckon Boothy don’t wanna sell the car…
If im ever selling owt and someone wants to put money in my bank account I don’t need asking twice !
Followed Pete’s link to your car,Andy. Seen it lots of times of course but it looks absolutely fantastic in those pics.
House and garden looks very neat, too. You need a new kitchen, though
Other than a few sniffs not had a lot of interest this week. I am not moving on price as I have no need or rush to sell and its a lot of car for the money. I think its at a difficult price point as its too expensive for many to afford without finance and I cannot offer what a dealer can in that respect, however a dealer would want £30k for it I am sure.
my 2008 240PP upgraded to 260 went for 32k last September. 15k miles, sports seats, touring, and the best colour. I recon 30k at a dealer would be about right, but that would come with a service, mot, and a warranty.
yours is a fab car & priced to sell. Money is tight at the mo’ look at new sports car sales this year. it makes depressing reading.
