Well I finally did it

The car went onto pistonheads this week

So far since the MOT last November she has only done 400 miles which is just not enough to justify keeping her, it took me ages to write the advert and actually click send but it had to be done. :frowning:
I was putting off doing it but having hopefully bought a share in a boat with my Dad I cannot keep putting off that kitchen as Steph wont wear it much longer.
So when she eventually goes (the car not Steph)   I should be on the look out for a nice S1, there is no rush so just going to wait for the right car to come along.

Well I am going to give the old girl a run out and see if we cant get to 410…

Andy

Underpriced m8 ?

I would say so as well , looks awesome in the photos Boothy , seen some rough ones for that money , not a pride & joy minter like yours .

Andy as above mileage and credible work done by a Lotus specialist. If you are looking for an S1 it’ll take a while and in that while finding a car as perfect as yours is someone’s else’s problem not to mention the price won’t move either way over the next few years. Up it 2k, it’s not your everyday car. Also Stephs a fit bird, I see the dilemma

Don’t be a stranger.

Boothy - S1 Exige or S1 Elise next? From your posts elsewhere, I presume the latter.

Price is based on mileage, I would add another £1k to yours

Can I actually up it now its advertised? I was going to ask on here for opinions but figured that would be its money as there are still some silly cheap ones mixed in with those much more expensive cars.

My little run out tonight turned out to be quite expensive :frowning: Set off with the battery conditioner still attached like a pratt… I now own various bits of battery conditioner  (shows how little I drive it).
Then somewhere out on my little run my rear numberplate vacated so I am quite lucky I did not get a tug. So I will be needing a new battery conditioner and numberplate now…

I did get a viewer last night, called within an hour of the advert going live but he does not want it as he has set his heart on sports seats although he said the car was perfect in every other sense. I did suggest swapping them and selling the stock ones on but I dont think he wanted the hassle.

S1 elise matey, the exiges are a little to much for me (for what I am trying to achieve) and I just fancy something cheaper to run whilst still having a toy, will should mean I can still do the exiges trackday and hang here (if you guys will let me).
Chris (evosal) let me have a drive of a 111s he has in and whilst pretty slow it was a lot of fun, I am actually quite exited about something different and being able to take the roof off without being a gayer.

You can change your price at will m8…
It’s your car till you hand over the keys !

Run o the mill cars then yes I’d agree but…
S2, s like S1, s are no longer being made.
Yes there is an S3 , but its 65 k !
Prices of S1+2 will go up and up …as sure as eggs is eggs…
Boothys car is a very well specced car and potential buyers will appreciate that getting a car up to this spec will cost them money.
I see a smart buyer looking on it as a bargain at 26k

Take it from someone who once sold his S2 Lotus Sunbeam for 1700 quid …
Doh :frowning:

I would say it is a fair price without all the upgrades Andy.

No problem changing the price, there was an V6 Exige at about £51k a few weeks ago at dealer and the next day it was about £55k.

That’s sad to see.
Best of luck with the sale. I’ve always admired your arse, in fact have mirrored my own on yours.

If you still have any of the standard stuff, I would put that back on and sell the uprated stuff separately.

Having recently sold my S2, I think you have it priced about right for a 2007 car, without sports seats. Mind you IMO it would be worth exactly the same amount in standard trim.

Sadly sold all of my standard stuff aside the ic as I had not planned on selling.
Thinking about it I still have the ecu and injectors so could return to 220 but I am not sure on cost to do that as I don’t fancy it myself.
In honesty I would of thought as a standard car more like £24k?

I am looking at what’s about and in my trim I would like to think £28k but then there is a few silly cheap and a few very expensive ones. My only issue is pricing to expensive and the phone just not ringing. Some of the S1 exiges seem to sit around forever. While there is no rush to sell at all I always think if a car sits around for too long people think there is an issue.
So do you lot think I need to up it a little? If so how much?

Stick a couple of grand on it - you can always negotiate downwards, hardly evrer upwards!

Good luck, but wish you weren’t doing it!

Oh, Boothy!
Sorry to read all this. But you have taken the time needed and I can see it makes sense. Hope you soon find a buyer and a replacement.
Best wishes, pal.

I think your price is fine - a couple of grand more maybe from a dealer with warranty, but as a private sale it’s ok IMHO.

Have you considered offering it to a dealer with cash difference for an S1 Elise?

Good idea, you might get a good deal off WillB?

Well I now have a guy in valley anguilla messaging me every day at least twice saying he wants to buy my car :unamused:

I said I have no interest in selling overseas, he says he really wants it and all I have to do is give him my bank details and he will transfer funds and arrange shipping

So if anybody wants to make a quick £500 I’ll give him your bank details and if £26.5k turns up you can have the .5  However I will not be held responsible if your life savings vanishes overseas

Boothy

Andy, ask him if he fits kitchens. I smell a deal here
