What oil are you using?
Mt90 redline dave ?
By the sounds of it, might be a little late for the syncros, if you are slow changing does it still crunch?
No it doesnāt ade ?
I too need some sensible advice on the same subject of upgrades.
Standard 220S with Sports and Supersports packs
Forge IC, TRD airbox, 2bular 100cell cat and back box.
And I also have an Eliseparts ECU with closed loop wideband. Donāt really know why I bought that one but it seemd like fun.
With this setup and current map I get about 195hp at the wheels. Limiting factor is the injectors that are on 100% duty early in the rev range.
So clearly I need bigger one, plus a fuel pump.
The advice I need is about the choice of path. Pros and cons. Iām not looking for more than 260-270hp (I thinkā¦) simply because I would like to keep the transmission i one piece.
Option 1: Stick with EP ECU and get something like DW 550cc injectors plus aftermarket pump.
pros: Flexible, Possibility for further tuning.
cons: Costly to develop a good calibration
Option 2: Sell EP ECU and go for the factory 260 upgrade
pros: car resale value, proven, OBD.
cons:
Option 3: Is there one ?

Hassle free option 2 is the sensible and approved by Lotus choice.
Option 2 for me, I did the 240-260 upgrade last year and the transformation is very noticeable
given you own the ECU, if the current drivability and map are ok, then I would get the new pump injectors and remap done.
If you do that the only thing you would lose out on is the map, if you use the lotus 440cc injectors and pump upgrade, both of these are fine for 260hp, you only really need 550cc injector around 300hp
Iād go option 2 for the reasons you have stated.
Mines booked in for option 2 in 3 weeks. Canāt wait.
Option 2 all the way. .
good resale and well sorted hassle free reliability.
option 2. orā¦ beter option 3.
Sell the 220 (as standard)
Sell parts /non standard
and buy a CUP to start with. Good deals in 240 and 260
Proās resale value higher and cheeper than buy all options (at the long end you want them all) seperate.
As I know I wonāt be able to stop modifying Iāve decided to stick to the route Iām already on - Option 1
Now - injectors what do you use? Bosch EV14, Densos ??, Deatchwerks, or something else ?
Which ones are a straight fit. If possible Iād like to avoid extra connectors.
Bosch Ev14 all the way, got mine from five0
The plugs are a little odd on the wiring harness from what I can gather, so get whatever fits them unless you donāt mind splicing or making convertors
fiveo will sell you the convertors
fiveo will sell you the correct injectors, right length, right plug. Simples
My car runs Fiveo injectors too.
Thought you only had four cylinders Ben?
following his car I think the 5th injects fuel into the exhaust
