Classic Dave Walker fodder - he’d love this thread!

Well I’m confused, So the guy did mine in the wrong gear making it a pointless exercise…
So does my afr look lean or fine? I am guessing afr would not be affected by gear?
I think I need together it booked in somewhere again, maybe dans new place in Liverpool.

Interesting, which one do they fit as std to the lotus though?

Id say the best place would be TDI down next to brands hatch there, they have loads of cars running the 260 code on file, its the code the 2-11 regs are set to for ET/CupUK etc. (248hp at the hubs iirc)

Doh!! One dyno trace in 4th and one in 5th! No wonder they’re different! Look at the speeds in the bottom of the page 115 ish versus 140 ish.

Go home and write ‘must do dyno pulls in same gear to get a true comparison between 2 cars’ 100 times and give to Pesky in the morning!!
lol … I wonder what bloody gear Marks was in then 1st? cos his was even more powerful
My coffee hadn’t kicked in, yeah I missed that one, duhh

See if WGT will re run yours ?

I’ve lost the plot , and really , really , bored with this.Just drive the bloody car, and if it feels right, it is right.

If it looks like a fish , then it’s a fish !!

WHAT DID CN’s SAY ABOUT THIS??

You bought the kit from them, my understanding is that they dyno’d the car bafore/after, if your engine gets damaged you will go back to them, so ask for their opinion. Rather some people on the internet, who may or may not have a clue, and certainly won’t help you out if they say its fine and its consequently not!!

If your bored kid, don’t read it, simples.

In answer to jds I have not spoken to cn’s about it yet, I’m very busy with work.
Car was dyno’d by me with some of the other guys and when it did came out lower than expected which at the time I put down to a heat soked ic.
After Gav mentioned the mounts possibly causing power Loss and my car having mounts I spoke to lotus direct, they said they could.
I thought I would follow their advice and pass on what I was told, it’s as simple as that, however it seems people don’t agree with lotus.

FWIW, there are two knock sensors available for the 2ZZ. One of them is more sensitive than the other.
Im not sure which one is on the lotus engine. My 2ZZ has a 1 wire knock sensor (same one used on the 1zz of the time (2002 engine with an 01 knk sensor). From 02, they changed to a two wire sensor. The 2ZZ was equipped with three different sensors throughout the years. Part numbers are 89615-12090, 89615-20080 and 89615-20090. EU engines seem to use mostly 20080 and 20090.

the Lotus engines could very well be equipped with what was left in stock?

One other thing. The difference in AFR could just be due to the different gearing which then uses different load cells on the map.

Appreciate that you’re busy, but for 11 months solid??? You’ve had time to go to a rolling road, start a couple of threads about it, talk to the Lotus field engineer, but not the dealer who did the work??

Trouble is, they may then remember to charge him for the work done, despite his constant advertising on their behalf

OK, gotcha!

Bugga, just remembered me boiler needs servicing - should I phone CNs to give it some extra whomphfff, or will they just forward my number on to Boothy?

Nah mate, I’ve heard that Boothy doesn’t do flat(s)
