Fitted the TRD box on my Exige this morning, took it out afterwards and it sound amazing for a �60 mod it is great but fitting the thing was another story. I think that one thing that may make the install better would be a longer plastic pipe between the air box and the inlet manifold(about 1 inch). Does anyone know if these are available from another Toyota car or TRD ??? As the current pipe fits but could do with being a bit longer. The top of the normal part of the box is now quite close to the intercooler pipes, so I will put some heat wrap around the section to stop the wire / multi plug heating up.

It does make the car sound like an Airel Atom when you nail it…

I’ve got one of these but not sure I can be arsed to fit it now I know you have to take the wheel arch liner out!

Went for a run in the Exige this afternoon in the dry and the supercharger whine is much louder when you are on it… I am not too sure how much louder it is outside of the car as I will need to get one of my mates to do a fly by on me. One thing that I did notice when idle is the stucking noise prior to the engine reving up when the throttle is pressed… Ade I take it this induction noise is normal ???

Mark - I wouldn’t be put off by the fitting just take your time, I got soaked finishing it off as I did it outside.

I really like the noise level as it is, but the SC whine is quite nice and amplifying it wouldn’t hurt!

Yes the extra SC whine is normal, the best thing I felt about this upgrade was that the noise isn’t increased for normal use it’s only when you start using the loud pedal the volume increases

Got mine finally done yesterday whilst in at B&C.

WOW!!!

Its like having Darth Vaider sitting in the passenger seat with you Charger whine is great on full beans and throttle responce is improved slightly.

I’d be interested in this too. And whether it’s likely to cause MIL problems. Anyone know?

No MIL issues yet and it is a recommended upgrade from Lotus Sport, it is suggested for the S but as the N/A uses the same airbox I don’t see why not.

Cheers Ade- any website info/pics on it all? Where’s best to contact to confirm ok for N/A model and where did you order from? Is the item you receive all that you fit or do you need new filter etc?

I got mine from my local dealer (Westover)

Don’t expect the same noise fitting it to the NA Exige though!

Apparently one dealer bought all the stock …
2 week wait now for some intake soundstage

Update:
fitted today …
Took 2 hours
A tad fiddly but on the whole not too difficult.
Had to drill 2 new holes and enlongate the third hole.
No MIL lights as yet …
Really amplifies the S/C whine as stated earlier in the thread.

Cheers Ade … your write up on fitting helped and sped up the process no end , knowing there are 2 holes to drill etc.
