Test drive in the V6

Are the cup cars having roof scoops like the rally car ?

Just had another drive of v6 at CN. Bloody awesome torque

Not as Im aware of.

I thought your Christine had “bloody awesome talk”

I would agree with you Rob but only when she is out of earshot

i had a test drive of the same one at christopher neils yesterday. very good experience. As stated the delivery of the power with torque was amazing. I couldnt stop grinning either gp fisher. I alos think it will be a big seller for lotus, especially with all the positive reviews from the car mags

Just back from the test drive (big thanks to Graeme for giving me an extended run). Well… from the inside it’s business as usual apart from new switches etc, but the difference in every other department was very apparent. The power delivery is just exactly what you would expect with low down grunt and an endless powerband. I wasn’t expecting much when i jumped in, but i was seriously mistaken! Those of you lucky enough to have ordered one of these won’t be disappointed! It feels a little strange to sit in a cabin that looks largely the same as an S2 but have no other real noises except what sounds like a Ferrari exhaust note! In race mode it is seriously quick! My mate ordered one straight away with delivery expected in Sept/Oct. Really can’t wait to drive it!!

I must say the more photo’s I see of the V6 the more I want a red one.

Apparently B&C get their demo car mid August

Finally saw the V6 at Brands Hatch at the weekend, and I must admit I was left a little deflated :frowning:

The back end - particularly the top line of the license plate, really needs addressing, as the number plate plinth position looks like an after thought IMO. Oh and of course it needs a roof scoop 'cos it’s not an Exige without one

I do like the front end and the general shape, but it just didn’t give the impression of a 50K + car. I think the white one I saw was spec’ed up to about 56K, and was parked next to a 71K Evora S which looked the business.

There was a Cup spec car in black that looked great, but it was kind of tucked away behind the pits, which to my mind was the worng place to put what I considered the best looking model of the new Exige - especially when there were two other cup cars (1 in yellow & 1 in Green/striped) on the motorpsport stand.

Perhaps it’s just me thinking that an entry level Exige S of the S2 variety was considerably cheaper (38K for 240PP car), and that you could expect to pay bigger money for a special or Cup model (but still only upto around 50K), where as this is just the starting point for the V6.

I’m still keen to drive one, but I think it’s safe to say I’ve ruled out buying one from new - which until I’d seen it I was considering doing next spring as a replacement for my current S2.

The smart money is in the Evora

I’ll have mine in black please, just for a change.

The black on looks nice

I dunno about the looks, it’s the fact the doors now look comically small i think

interestingly the venom does a better job side on of hiding this IMO

A good point, well observed

There was a maroon coloured one that drove out that did not look to clever IMHO. Quite a colour sensitive shape as theres quite a bit of unpainted detail that works best on very light or very dark I think.

Nice sunstrips though

I agree with all that , it was my first look round it at brands also , it’s nice but so is the S2 , it really needs the roof scoop , I’m sure it would make all the difference .
Yes the black seems to suit the car and also couldn’t understand why it was tucked out the way .

yeah black does work for it, hides some of the gonky bits
