Don’t bring the media into it! It’s Cameron and that tit Francis Maude wot caused the panic.
…A well known fact. In the early days of the S1 we had plenty of discussion about it on here. A search should reveal these. I had at least two compressors on my car but it was never very good. To my mind it’s an essential tool in a road going Exige.
On the bright side however, and remaining on topic (sort of), just think how much fuel you could save, whilst it is scarce, by not driving the compressor!
Or drive really quickly the small print in the spec on my car says “Air -conditioning which cuts out when the driver uses more than nine-tenths throttle - very rarely does a driver use more that 95 per cent throttle for more than 10 seconds even on the quickest circuits”…apparently !!!

Seemed they gave sound , and good advice to me and since petrol was invented I think people keep a can , in the garage, or garden shed.

Podger - 83 Man’s comments relate to the S1. The S2 air con should work fine & cause no problems even in 30deg heat. Yours needs checking out
Damn ,just realised my chainsaw needs fuel …
Bloody Fat Truckers …
Lol

Mate the media are in it, if they did the responsible thing and did not report it in the first place the government would not have to react (badly).
Sadly people in this country cannot wrap their heads around the fact if nobody did anything other than what they normally do we would not have a problem. In the interim small business like myself gets crippled as when my van no worky I no worky.
But that’s ok because little over weight billy can get to school in mummy’s car rather than walking the half mile from door to door so he does not get his quavers wet or get bumm raped by all those naughty men.
Grrrr rant over
Could be worse, you could have to deliver 2 cars, with sufficient fuel for a track day, to Anglesey. And bring them back again. And the customers need to be able to get there. And home again.
Not panicing yet!!
The potential industrial action could ruin the weekend for around 100 of us alone ie trackdayers/spectators/family, not to mention the impact it would have on the local economy/businesses. From previous conversations with locals, the Easter Weekend is traditionally the busiest weekend of the year, as this is also when loads of windsurfers come out to play.
Not that Len Mcluskie gives a damn - his terms & conditions will never be affected unfavourably.
Ever the optimist, I’m hoping this will get sorted in the next day or so…or at least Unite doesn’t steam ahead & give the requisite 7 day notice of a strike.
only 300 miles for me each way so I need fuel on the way there and back plus the fuel on the day, got to hope that I can get fuel…
Hmmmmmmm fuel tanker for sale | eBay
Split how many ways? JFK drives it at 8 an hour. Job sorted!!

Do you know anyone with a fuel station, a recovery truck that will carry 2 cars and a car trailer

Who’s he then? Never heard of him!!
Just continuing my comparison with military pay scales and responsibilities…
The Unite fact sheet tells us that each tanker load is worth just under 50k and weighs 44 tonnes. Drivers work in 12 hour shifts - so that’ll be four a week maximum to meet tachograph regs. The drivers earn about 45k. A reasonable level of responsibility for a decent wage.
A British Army Apache helicopter costs about 35m. It can kill many more people than a tanker load of fuel - and it might get shot at or attacked by missiles whenever on operations. It will normally be flown by a Sergeant, on the highest technical pay band, which will give him about 36k wages, plus flying pay to get him somewhere near the earnings of a tanker driver. He’ll deploy to operational theatres for 4 - 6 months at a time and maybe see his family and friends once during that time. He can be called to fly on operational missions at any time, day or night. The level of responsibility is staggering. And don’t start me off on some other military roles…
Maybe we need another group of martyrs, just like the miners, who’s industry is now dead as a result of their greed, to remind the work force generally about the power of economics.
If this lot try to hold the country to ransom then I hope that economic power hits them fair and square in the face and that the government takes them on.
Sorry JFK, but got to agree with that. In truth though, when has pay ever been directly proportional to risk and responsibility? Sit in an office and sell 5 million shares of something that only exists in another reality, earn several million a year. Work for MOD, police, fire, front line NHS, etc where you literally hold yours and/or other peoples lives in your hands, earn significantly less. In it together? I think not.
I get 10 an hour on days …
11 an hour on nights …
45K a year it is not !
Very very few tanker drivers get 45K …
Don’t believe the media , It’s mostly crap they spout…
…
Try finding a HGV job that pays 20K let alone 45K?
PS .
83 man … your understanding of tacho law is very flawed.
You are misunderstanding wheels turning time with total shift time.
