We did all of last season including track days, circa 68 hours on two standard boxes using Motul Gearcomp & Exedy organic clutches.
They get a hard life though, either racing or hire use and people aren’t too sympathetic with hire cars!

jubu just told me this morning that the parts (gear set and final drive) will be available in about 3 to 4 weeks
Ratios look nice and close compared with the standard gears. I like it.
Been running a set of Jubu gears for nearly a year now with oil cooler and they seem ok. Only done a couple of track days, but that’s better than the standard box that died near the end of it’s first track day after charge cooler fitted.
Just updated my thread. I’d taken teeth out of the final drive at Anglesey, so even with 3rd and 4th and oil cooler its still vulnerable. Putting a Jubu final drive back in again.
sorry for the stupid question, did you manage to strip 6th gear?
Think he means the final drive gear (Diff)
Crown wheel around the diff. Pinion also damaged.
Did the rest of the box survive ok?
No damage to the rest of the box. Stripped and cleaned and all good. Going to throw in the Celica 6th gear to maintain a reasonable motorway cruising ratio for after the Jubu final drive is fitted again. Should keep 6th at approximately the same as standard so only the other gears shortened and its not too often that you get to 6th on track.
Sounds like a good plan, if I had not just had my box out to replace the clutch I would be doing the same…
I’ve got the long 6th and it does make a noticable difference ( std FD ratio from SSC)
I regret getting an Exige gearbox when I did the rebuild on mine, it cost more and I lost the longer 6th of the Celica box I had been using
If it comes apart again I will go the same way as Will probably
well, i have the regret to announce that i broke my lovely gearbox with the Kaaz gearset
the gearbox did only 9 trackdays (mostly Spa) and had around 11.000km on it
it broke in town in 3rd or 4th (can’t remember) after 120 km on motorways, i wasn’t even tracking the car
i took out the gearbox on saturday and brought it a lotus specialist for dismantling, which will happen somewhere next week
note: Exige S , chargecooler, 300bhp, gearbox oil cooler used on track, Motul 300V 75W90 LS
Sorry to hear, thanks for the feedback
Shame to hear yours has broken, the Kaaz gearset from what I understand is not made of gears any stronger or wider than the standard gearset just closer ratios. Hope your fix is not to painful
some news
the gearbox has been dismantled
the final drive and shaft are fubared, teeth exploded, the LSD is broken at the bearing
gearbox case and forks are damaged as well
the good news is the KAAZ gearset is intact
and as i kept the stock gearbox, i’ll able to reuse the case, forks and FD
either the LSD got blocked some how and damaged the FD and shaft
or the other way around, FD/shaft blocked that broke the LSD
feel free to chime in
just need to buy another LSD and new synchros+bearings
case
shaft
broken Kaaz LSD
final drive
