Strange fault, any ideas

Guys had a bit of a wierd one tonight, got into the car and fired her up ready to go to the monthly Norlog meet.
Straight away the idle started hunting between 750 and 3000rpm, it kept trying to settle but then would start doing it again and then it would cut out.
I drove it down the street but it was obviously jumpy and pulling me forwards as it tried to go to 3k. I pulled over switched of and on a few timesbut it was still the same.
So I fired it up and gave it a few revs and as it started trying to settle down I just set off and gave it a bit off down the road.
Everything then started to settle down and went back to normal and the car drove fine. After the meet the car fired up fine and the idle was back to normal.

The only thing I can add was that I washed it a week or so before and it has not been driven since… Could be a bum steer but could it be water somewhere it should not of been?

I guess I will have to try it again tomorrow from stone cold, the car was stood for around three hours at the meet so probably not really cold.

So do we have any ideas? I must say cold running has been shite since fitting the larini silenced de cat but its never done this and I guess that should not be the problem. I am just worried as we have Anglesey in just over a week :astonished:

If it’s runnin like crap after the exhaust install you have an exhaust leak before the O2… runnin like crap after a good wash could be water on/in the ecu conector or water droplets in the coil tubes… The water vapor shorts out the spark.

Probably the new wheels and you need to swap them with mine

Your new 2ubular will resolve that one mate!

Tesco 99 - doesn’t like not being driven flat.

Your ECU has a flat spot. Find it, nurture it, and bring it to Anglesy

Think Frank’s advice was best, probably just some water where it should not have been

Reet, I am going outside to test it again after standing over night! I’m crossing everything but after the shitty day I have had I am guessing it will be fooked.

Hmmmmm well it seemed ok…

Bet it dies before the trackday.
