Ok chaps, you ‘tool snobs’ have just got a new member…so I was wondering if there is a best/cheapest/discounted place to buy Snap-On tools or do I have to buy them from my local ‘dealer/rep’?
I don’t know about Snap-On, but get yourself along to Halfords and buy their 10-piece ratchet spanner set (with flexi-head). AFAIK they’re rebranded Drapers and come out top in pretty much every review, in terms of quality (not just price). About 32 for a set of 10 IIRC. Lifetime guarantee
Apologies for the cruddy picture…

I got some like the piccy - not flexy heads - and they are toppermost. Almost too good to get dirty!
I have 2 sets of each just in case…
It’s a sort of female logic… somethings a bargain, so buy two…

About time you came out of the closet! Did you see Mr Oaten whilst you were there

Ah yes, the Lib Dem Minister for Homo Affairs. How ironic…
local dealer rep (man with a big white van) is usually good if you can establish a rapport and then maybe get some good deals. Otherwise, you can shop online at
or EBay…
What sort of discount am I likely to get, if any, off the retail catalogue price?
Right, got the catalogue from Snap-On, mmmmmm its nearly as good as a porn mag, BUT isnt this stuff fcuking expensive, admittedly its beautiful stuff, probably too good to use, but its motoring ‘art’, i’d buy some just too touch and look at everytime i went into my garage!
Anyway, a lot of peeps have recommended Halfrauds 150 piece socket set at the reduced price of 99.99…then I might stock up on some Snap-On bits and pieces including a roll cab with top chest!
Ive got the Snap-On van coming over on Thursday, think i might mug the driver, but ive seen this stuff on ebay…do you think its all legitamate or are copies on the go?
Also. I keep seeing ‘Snap-On Eurotools’, are they part of the USA Snap-On?
I say by the full range julian! (This has noithing to do with the fact i live 15 minutes away from you and will always be wanting a lend)
