Hi
I’ve booked a place for myself on Sunday 10th Dec at Silverstone. I will be taking my recently turbocharged Exige along so anyone who is interested in a passenger ride, with a view to having a turbo kit fitted to their Toyota engined Elise / Exige please feel free to come along on the day.
Goldtrack want 10-00 per passenger for this and you can sign on throughout the day.
YOU MUST BRING YOUR OWN HELMET ! Remember covered arms too !
Interested parties can reply on this thread if they would, so I can guage numbers.
Hi Guys
Righto on Sunday I suppose it will be around 10-15 before its worth going out on track temperature wise [assuming its not raining] So if we schedule approx time slots for each person wishing to be taken round.
Start with 10-30 = MrD06 David
11-00 B3VES Rob [Seloc]
11-30 21GG Gav
12-00 Splitpin David
12-30 Grinzzz
13-00 Thunderpants Bernard
14-00 Snapper [perhaps]
Remember a helmet and try to find Melindi & sign on as early as you can.
The times are of course very flexible. [lets look at these times to advantage of Phil Bennett]
Our mate Phil Bennett has confirmed he will be avail for Sunday morning [morning only] for our passenger rides. He will do “warm up” a Flying lap and a “cool down lap” or time dependant two fast laps per passenger.
I would love to come along - pax laps with Phil Bennet in a turbo Exige sounds alot of fun, and I am very interested in the conversion for my own car. Unfortunately Silverstone is a bit too far from Edinburgh . This begs the question, which I am sure will be of interest to quite a few people in Scotland and the north of England, of what happens with servicing and support post any conversion being done. Would Weltmeister be happy to cooperate with another recognised specialist (e.g. Jude in Newcastle) for servicing/fault finding? The conversion sounds superb, but it would be nice to have some reassurance that help might be available a bit closer to home if there were any problems to be resolved.
The car “post conversion” is still fully capable of std diagnostics etc, so anyone qualified can work on it.
Any map alterations however would need doing by us.
Should any minor mechanical issues arise that are warranty and geographically it is difficult to get back to us, we will within reason work with competent repairers.
David
This may have been an “easy kill” if we had been “raping” the price to start with, however as we priced this installation aggresively to gain market presence at 6995 all in, it makes no significant difference until we reach c$2.15 to 1
It is selling in USA for $8295 ex warehouse at todays UK bank rate you will probably get $1.85 for each 1 so in effect you will need 4484 + 21 charges = 4505 + freight of c475 = 4980 + duty at 3% min = 4640 + 17.5% vat = 5452 + fitting of 1410 inc vat + 411 inc vat for localised mapping = Total of 7273 !
However I am always willing to discuss anything. If you think you can get 5 confirmed buyers together who will actually pay in full up front then I am sure a saving of around 300 per car installation can be made.
I’ll join this thread as it’s a bit livelier than the one on SELOC
I’m really looking forward to it and also putting paid to rumours that Mr D and I are the same person, given that it looks like we have had the same car stable for the past 3 years
YESSSSSSS, I would be very interested, but as a press photographer it is work dependent, If a really big story kicks off them I will have to cover it… But I will do my very best to skive off
Unfortunately i dont have my own helmet here in UK. Is it at all possible someone could lend me a helmet?
Val, you can usually rent them on most UK trackdays. Trust me, you wouldn’t want to borrow mine as I’ve done too many summer trackdays if you catch my drift
