… as I stood corrected!
A totally original (including colour!!) 118 BHP, MMC’d, S1 Elise with only 7100 miles!
Goes quite well really

Doh!
Yes it is actually mate!
Looks nice Pete
you should consider a exhaust upgrade and intake filter mod to liven up the top end, as the original set up runs out of puff at 5800rpm
Looks ace Pete
Looks really good Pete
yeah that’s a total peach!
Very nice bet it will be for sale soon
Sam… you and Rob both now have me sussed apparently! (BTW… are you still selling yours! )
Tim, interestingly with a decat fitted, as a boggy basic ‘K’, it still pulls quite strongly to the rev limiter, but yes it certainly seems sensible to fit a free flowing induction and exhaust. An easily reversible mod as well.
For me, the appeal of this car was the simplicity and originality of it. And the relative low performance now enjoyably ‘fits’ with my ‘regrettable’ lifestyle changes limited by my health… that basically now preclude me successfully driving and therefore really enjoying a high performance car. I miss driving Shrek of course and my SC Exige S2 as well! And also being a proper pilot of Andy D’s amazing machines!!!
My biggest ‘dilemma’ however is with the MMC’s. They are just amazing brakes, look great, but are now irreplaceable! I would hate to destroy them by overheating if I decide to to a serious track day and some have suggested I should take them off to preserve that future resale appeal!!! and then just fit some standard disks with maybe RS42’s or similar… Not sure if MMC’s would handle a day out at say Donnington with those big stops? I am pretty aggressive on brakes!!! From what I have read I find this a difficult call, especially as I do think the car feels SO light and nimble, even when compared with Shrek! MMC’s are I believe 2kg per corner lighter, that is a big reduction in unsprung mass! Any thoughts welcome on this one!
Anyway, I have already done 300 highly enjoyable roof off miles on Hertfordshire and Essex’s lovely back roads.
Cheers,
Pete.
Pete - MMC’s are fine for track work I never had a single issue with mine on many a track outing. Enjoy
Thanks Tim!
Hope to see you soon.
Very nice Pete
If you’re passing Harlow at any point, pop in the fire station for a cup of tea and so I can have a looksy!
That’s lovely.
