Yeah, very cool pic!!
Nice car Pete, I am thinking S1 Elise among other things as a short term bit of fun.

Cheers for the compliments guys!
I have found the simplicity and lightness of the original to be a refreshing change from my previous exploits! Also being totally original (well there is ONE thing that is not for the eagle eyed to spot!), there is lots of motivation to leave it just as that! an appreciating ‘classic’ (just like me I know!!)
Lots to be said for open top motoring as well!!!
Does look proper good. Remember them days well, when there was 1 model, 18 month waiting lists and speculators selling for £5k premiums.
One thing??? Tyres, alloy window winders, S2 mats, silver gear lever, alloy throttle body All nice to have though and in no way detrimental to it.
Spotter! All correct!
Tyres… New AD08’s, but still have the original P6000’s with lots of tread left (being 17 years old, I replaced them as they were probably quite hard!)
Alloy window winders… yes true! Shrek had the original plastic handles (anyone have a set of plastic ones??) Steve!
Alloy TB! Spot on! 52mm one replaced the 49mm plastic one that was sticking a bit… (Still have the it)
Silver gear lever! Yes, short shift fitted along with new linkage as one of the original bushes fell out! (Still have the original black plastic coated one)
S2 mats… Had these new from my S2 and never used them so hey, why not! The car still has the original ‘black rubberised’ floor under however!
Think thats about it!
Bet the original tyres would make life interesting!! They were pretty grim when they were new!
Get the rubber mats up and have a look underneath. I’m guessing that it hasn’t got wet in its extensive life so far, but you don’t want to ruin it now.
Tyres… yup a no brainer decision mate! And the AD08’s are pretty mega as far as I can tell within my limitations!!!
Mats… had a look underneath and the tub is ‘as new’! So since I will also never drive the car in the wet, and it is garaged, I see no future issues with the ‘floor recall’ problem. So, I think leaving the rubber mats in-situ will add an extra dimension of originality that a lot of cars have lost due to the floor recall. If it’s not broke etc… ?
I do prefer the look of the ali floor, but hey ho!
