hi, sorry to see you are selling. i don’t need your car, but a bit of your knowledge.
how did you fit the oil pressure sender?
i am attempting the same at the moment. I don’t see how to fit additional sender.
on the oil filter housing between the oil cooler pipes there is a 90 deg pipe with the oil pressure light switch sensor, ( i think) to fit the tapered threaded 5 cm diameter oil temp sender i will need a t-piece and perhaps a link pipe so i can relocate the sensors as there seems to be to little space for the big sender?
is the origional pressure warning light switch the same 1/8 pipe thread? i just don’t know what parts to order.
any info would be gratefully received. ta.
No worries Mitch, AndyD has posted on here a lot of info about the size but IIRC it’s all 1/8 NPT.
I put a T-Peice in, left the original sender attach to the t-peice and run some -3 to the roll bar. I used the Telemetrix gauges and they were sent by Merlin M’Sport (based near Castle Coombe IIRC).
I’ll dig out the invoice and get the details of what I ordered
HTH,
Mark
hi mark, thats excellent news. i have the merlin guages and senders, its the pipe work and fixings that are giving me the problem.
i have the oil temp, sump plug thing already functioning, just need the oil pressure going before i develop a nice pod/housing for them both in the cockpit.
looking forward to my new shopping list!
thanks, mitch.
Hi Mitch,
RIght, sorry for the delay but just looked up your parts:
They are as follows:
T-Peice 1/8 NPT
ADAPTOR -3JIC X 1/8 NPT STEEL
3/8 UNF FEMALE SWIVEL
M10 x 1 FEMALE CONVEX
PTFE HOSE -3 100MM (but really need longer, probably 200MM)
Then all the gauges and such like!
HTH,
Mark
I’ve revised all that routing and there is enough room under there to mount a t-peice and both senders IMHO… Less chance of any leaks and such like.
Anyway, it’s all polished up and looking loverly! Will just get the crank oil seal replaced early next week and it’ll be good to go! Unless someone wants to take it like that where it’ll be a good opportunity to fit a uprated clutch if that’s their thing (personally I see no need as I don’t go to Santa Pod )… Anyway, enjoy the pics

Looking great Mark, you might as well keep it
A porker or RX thingy would never look that good sat there y’know
Tim.
Heh heh, one day, but head must win over heart…
…I know nothing much will look anywhere near as good at all… But it may not be in vain! For some racing may be on the cards next year, so some of the money will go for that me thinks
Mark
Racing is fun, of course, but you could do that in an old banger BMW with seloc or whatever, and still keep the Exige…
You know you want to really…
Even racing bangers on my budget means I’d have to loose it really, it will break my heart especially now it’s looking so good!
But to get a full season in I’ll need as much cash as possible!!!
How about going in as a second driver in the endurance events?
That way someone else pays most of the cost…
Can’t drive at night with an ARDS B… And it’ll still cost more than shed racing I reckon
But I need to pay some other bits off, then it’s getting all kitted out to race and such like, I’ve got all the personal gear, but the car, the spares, the trailer, the fuel costs etc… I’ll need some money “spare” me thinks

How much would it cost to be a second driver for a season approx±

I’ll drive really careful, Honest!

Have you considered the possibility that we avoid the days where you are booked on?
Nice one
I’m sure I’ll be much slower than you lot in my standard elise anyway

Your speed ain’t a problem, more the errr… direction(S) in which you drive Remember the roundabouts near Le Mans
