This build is immense, looking forward to seeing it in person someday!
Successful track day at cadwell park, but we were fighting engine oil temps all day which meant 2 laps was about all we could do before they went over 130deg. So next thing on the list is more oil cooling. We will be swapping the side pod one out from a 19 to 25 row. And then we are remaking the airbox so we can mount a second 34row cooler that will be fed from the roof scoop.
A few jobs done today in preparation for Mondays Silverstone GP track day.
Turns out the radiator had a small leak. Can’t complain as the pro alloy one that came out was date stamped 2006 !
New airbox arrived Friday so spent most of today fitting the new 2nd oil cooler to it and plumbing it all in. Hopefully this keeps the temps in check more than we saw a cadwell park a few weeks back.
Shame to hide that airbox in the car!
Piece of art!
Great day at silverstone today. Was some pretty serious cars there. D was quite intimidating when we turned up! A wet morning on r888 tyres was errrrrm interesting , but rain stopped and track dried out nicely around lunch time. Had to reduce rev limit to 7000rpm as we were blowing 105db on a 102db limit driveby with 8200 rpm . However….temps are now fixed! Water temp didn’t really go over 95deg and highest I saw out the engine oil was 118deg c after kicking its head in for 7 laps .
Ambient temp was 24deg in the afternoon, intake temps also didn’t really go over high 30,s So job done.
