I hadn’t even got home by then LOL
Lol, darrens already got me a shopping list together too !
Safety devices full cage purchased along with an electronic lifeline fire suppression kit. Darren’s going to start removing seats and bulkhead bits tonight.
Struggling to get a decent deal on air jacks at the moment.
Loving your work Marc/Darren, standing on the pitwall the car looked truly epic as it screamed past spitting flames. Good luck getting it back together…
Thanks Ben, shame we missed the afternoon as I think Darren was going to turn up the power later on!
Wont take long to put back together, new cage is turning up on Friday, then just depends how quickly we can get parts together for the gearbox, although the bulkhead change will take some time. Next TD is July 26th at hethel.
That bulkhead needs some bling Marc…know what I’m saying
In hand jonny in hand
Yea lol it does seem that way, nice cage. Interested to see what the new and old S1 4point weigh if you get a second Marc, is it T45?
I don’t think it is, sure Darren was disappointed in the weight gain, but a bit more weight to fend off death is a fair trade! We will be losing the entire ventilation system as well, but potentially adding air jacks
very smart
Marc
Just as a matter interest what gear were you doing your Dyno pulls in ?
Yeah good call Andy. Dyno’s, especially hub dyno’s are uber hard on gearboxes.
No idea, can find out though. In fairness to the gearbox it was a 60,000 miler that was fitted when it was first converted by Phoenix, so it’s done about 6000 road miles and maybe 10 TD’s including 2.5 at this power level, it was always going to go bang at some point! Darren’s gearbox contact said over the phone I bet it’s 4th when you strip it out, he wasn’t wrong.
yeah, 4th does seem the weakest - mine goes weeeeeeep
Ok Darren said 5th gear, but they did a full 6th gear pull too
