Mine used to look pretty much identical to that,…ahem some years ago.
Kevin, you car looks really good and seems to in a good state looking at the outside (paint, bodywork, etc.). The Exige S1 is relatively easy to work on once you removed the clams and get full access. Basically they are still simple cars which have been assembled by hand during production. So it should be possible for you to sort the mechanically things and get it back on the road.
Just don’t be put off by any others work, go your own way and take your time. And Jonny’s restoration lives on planet ‘best-of-show’ anyway so that’s far away
