Thanks Deggles, I’ve already been to have a good look at this one a couple of weeks ago. I’ve also got a few other options at the moment, so I hopeful of getting the right one for me soon!

Thanks to Tim (Rotaryboy) the search for my first Lotus is finally over and I’ve finally got my dream S1 Exige!
The car’s been stood/garaged for a while and needs a bit of work. I plan on doing as much as I can myself, but I’m sure I’ll be seeking plenty of your advice/guidance and some specialist assistance along the way…

The 2nd photo (above) was taken a few years back before she went into storage. Will be a bit of a long term project for me, as I’m building a new garage/workshop before starting on the car. Really looking forward to it though…

Thanks, it’s stil not quite sunk in that I’ve finally got one! I just hope it doesn’t take me another 3 years before I get to fully enjoy it out on the road!
Doing a bit of research, the car was also owned by TurboTomato (ex-forum member). The engine was rebuit by Lakeside Back in 2003 following an oil issue!

I previously thought that the Turbo Tomato car had the red interior (sports seats etc), maybe someone changed it for a black interior?

Glad it all went well Kevin, I’m finally back on the Forum after waving goodbye to the car…ironic. Another era of car ownership comes to a close…would I have another Lotus? - In a heartbeat, but probably something new calls when funds are available again…Although I have been exceptionally quiet, this forum has been a real goldmine of information and help so thanks to all out there and to some who have tragically passed too. Hope it doesn’t take too long to realise your dream Kevin.

I’ve always been a classic lotus nut, and didn’t really like the Elise. An imposter !
But then my neighbour’s mate bought a black S1 Exige, new, and suddenly ‘I got it’.
That looks just like it and it brings back the ‘it’s just right’ memories.
