Hope he’s lurking Aussie tosser lol

Jonny he was driving a lardy S2 with soft springs - I think that was his excuse

He does ‘lurk’ now and again but is currently flying out of Finland for the week.

So in this case there is no chance the guy could import it.

Not true.

You can import an S1 Exige into Australia through the SEVS and RAWS scheme. There is only one workshop in Australia that can comply the Elise/Exige and that is Simply Sports Cars in Sydney. They can do all the importing, quarantine and customs clearance plus comply the vehicle. The total cost is dependent on the value of the car as it will be hit with GST and LCT (luxury car tax - and yes I know “luxury” and “Exige” are polar opposites but it is a value not quality tax).

The personal import scheme is much easier though but does require that you own and use the car overseas for at least twelve months (and have records to prove that).
An S1 Exige ?
Yes - and he has already done at least one. He can do any Elise or Exige up to 2005 or 2006.

Just want to put the record straight - the information above is correct - SSC can import a completely standard S1 Exige for you into OZ - however you may want to check the final cost …

My situation was different due to the Honda engine, that would not be allowed, only with a Personal import - it must be standard for SSC to import it for you.

Apologies for confusion
